This morning I went out for coffee with one of my agents. Real early. Met a lovely lady in the next booth who I hadn't seen for months. Apparently they come to breakfast, only when school is in session. She asked me for a few of my cards to give out at her Church. A member is thinking of selling her home and downsizing.

Every morning it is important, to me, to start off the day on a positive way. Bright and early, my lab, Jack, wakes me up. You can't help but smile because he is so enthusiastic and happy about this new day! After taking care of his morning needs, I ready myself for the day. Some mornings, I go out for coffee and breakfast. Over the years, I have been fortunate to meet really good friends. It has become a tradition to see this people who greet you with a friendly smile. Do you talk to your clients when you popby? I always tell them to help me with the popby tagline, I am not always clever with those. If they are not home, I leave it at the door they use, then I call to make sure their neighbor didn't take it. They laugh when I say that! Do you popby to the attorneys that you use regularly? Fourth of July is coming up quickly! Trying to get out and get my holiday popbys delivered in time for my clients and friends to enjoy them!! Going to set my goal at fifty, but, hoping to double that amount. Good to know lots of people for this assignment. The neighbors usually come to me when I stop at my clients homes, so, I will be ready for them this time.
Red, white and blue ribbon. Flags, candles, mosquito bite preventative pads, jelly beans, barbecue mitts and potholders, luggage tags, disposable cameras, pencils, lip gloss, so many ideas are running through my head.

Trying to get all these things in my coaching plan done. I go into the tracker and post my stats daily. The corporate-business lunches are making me step out of my zone, but, they are getting done. On Wednesday, I attended a corporate luncheon at our local minor league baseball park. It seemed odd to go into the ballpark without my family and without casual clothes on. The event was held in one of the ballpark suites, which overlook the playing field. Workers were busy out there, readying the field for the night's game. First full day of summer today, June 21st! With this season comes the message of safety, in your home, your yard and even, when you may be away on vacation. Making daily lists does help with the planning of our summer events. Make sure you add in some safety tips and tools. First aid kit, bug bite remedies, fire extinguishers, check your flashlight batteries, check your smoke/fire detector batteries, and anything else that may need updating for the safety of your home and family. I just purchased new sunscreen products. Last year's can't be good anymore:)

As soon as the market changed, we seemed tempted to try all of the latest and greatest fixes. Some of which are advertised here on our sidebars of our posts. The best advice I can give to you is to get out and get going. Don't waste your time, energy and money on quick fixes. Get yourself to an event, whether it be locally or if you need to travel, then go.

What a great two days! I had not been to downtown Philadelphia before, but, thanks to Brian Buffini, I had the opportunity. The airport is huge, compared to our airport in Hartford. Short ride got us to the hotel in about thirty minutes. Hotels surround the convention center, which really worked out well for all of the attendees. Our profession, sales, probably uses more funds out of our budget than many others. Aside from truck companies, airlines, cabs, police and fire rescue people. We, much like the trucking companies, can't really raise our compensation too much. Some of the food or wholesale goods/retail companies have raised prices to keep themselves in the black. In the last seven years, on average, Realtors have made less compensation. More agents, sellers' market and booming economy. Yes, that was the title of the event I attended this morning. It was held in Hartford at the Connecticut Convention Center. A breakfast event hosted by the Metro Hartford Alliance and by the Hartford Business Journal. It started at 7am and ended by 9am. Awards were given to six area businesses for their amount of growth with their employee numbers and also, by their revenue amounts for the past year. The market is now in a state of "buyer's choice" rather than, sellers will only do this. So, how can it still seem that the sellers are "winning" in this market. Here's what I am seeing in our area, in Connecticut. If the home is in pristine condition, priced agressively and in a good location, it sells in less than two weeks. If the buyer doesn't jump right in to an offer, he will either loose the chance of buying that home or a bidding war will determine who moves into this home next. Even though it is being celebrated almost a week early this year, folks are hustling about to pick up their picnic/cookout items for the holiday. 2008 Memorial Day. I don't know the reason for the change of the actual date of the holiday, but, it has been moved to this Monday. The weather is sunny and warm and it is to continue being so for the weekend.
