ellington ct: Let's Go Shopping, Home Shopping! - 10/27/11 02:42 AM
With the holidays coming soon, we are being hit with the ads.  On the internet, on television and yes, even snail mail has increased. Looking forward to holiday sales?  What about home shopping sales?

Certainly, there is an awesome sale going on!  The interest rates and repayment terms have greatly, improved.  The inventory is huge!  Many of the homes have been updated and improved, too!  Some of the homes, may even offer coupons!  You could think of it as a lay away purchase, that you are able to live in and enjoy while you are making the payments!
Make a list!

ellington ct: End of Year Thoughts - 11/04/09 02:07 AM
Just a short post.
As I start into my 24th year in the business, I am reflecting on what has worked for me so far, as well as what I expect will help grow my business in the future. In a referral based industry, such as real estate, there is no larger contributor to success than the people you know.
I just wanted to send a quick THANK YOU to everyone who helped build my business over the past 23 years and I hope I can count on you for many more years to come.
Looking forward to a successful 2010!

ellington ct: Who is Your Seller? - 08/20/08 06:36 AM
Oh, you're really going to love this one!  Is your seller a person who called in to your office?  Did they ask for you, in particular?  Was it an email correspondent?  How about, did they come to an open house that you held?  Were they referred to you by another Realtor, out-of-state or out of your demographic area?  Did they find you through your family or friends?  Did one of your present or past clients give them your name to call when they said they needed a good agent?
Which way that lead came in to you, makes a huge difference … (6 comments)

ellington ct: Showing on Crystal Lake in Ellington, Ct! - 08/05/08 05:04 AM
I cannot tell you what a pleasure it is for me, when I have the opportunity to show properties that are on and around a lake.  Yesterday, I was the lucky Realtor.  I was showing homes on and surrounding Crystal Lake in Ellington, Ct.  As we drove by the Sandy Beach Rd beach, I watched the families playing in the refreshing water.  Children were jumping into the water from the raft.  It was like a scene from a good book, a good movie or a family video.  Here's a photo of the lake from Sandy Beach Rd in Ellington.  It was taken … (2 comments)

ellington ct: My July Popby is Hot! Keeps Food Cold! - 07/03/08 03:38 AM
Do you talk to your clients when you popby? I always tell them to help me with the popby tagline, I am not always clever with those.  If they are not home, I leave it at the door they use, then I call to make sure their neighbor didn't take it.  They laugh when I say that!  Do you popby to the attorneys that you use regularly?  Attorneys and their staff, love the visit and gift:) How about your closest friends, your vendors, the man who works on your car, your landscaper, the person you buy coffee from during the day, believe … (20 comments)

ellington ct: Are You Afraid Your Home Will Sell? - 06/01/08 10:49 AM
In this market, the title of this blog may seem odd to most readers. Here is the scenario that will help explain the question, are you afraid your home will sell?  These particular sellers, and there are a few of these every month now, are not sure that they will find their next home.  They want to go out and look at what is on the market to see if anything appeals to them.  That's fine, I would do the same.  Getting your home on the market quickly, will help you to know how much you will really have in hand, to purchase that … (7 comments)

ellington ct: Ellington, Connecticut ~ Lovely Country Community - 10/23/07 12:17 PM
I have a couple of listings in this lovely, country community.  It is mostly farmland. My niece lives in this town. My husband and I, thirty years ago, tried to build a home here.  Things didn't work out because of the planning of the home and where on the lot to place it, so, we ended up moving to another nearby town. I have sold several homes here as well.  It is off the beaten path, no highways going through, you must go to another town for highway access.  The hills are rolling, green with rich soil, covered with mostly cows and horses.  Here and … (0 comments)
