This week's photo montage includes properties currently for sale that have ocean or at least open salt water locations. I am often surprised, for an island, how very few oceanfront properties exist. This is the first time in my memory that a property directly on Herring Creek Beach has come on the market. Price: $3,950,000. I recently attended a conference for Resort and Second Home Property Specialists. I was impressed today by a bank owned property priced at $399,000. Not too bad. I think as soon as incomes and home prices get in line nationwide, the prices will stabilize and inventory will go down. Realtor association is thinking this fall. Newsmedia seems to think end of year. Might need to be an administration change. Hopefully we will not have the crazy increases of the last 10 years. Prices here have gone up 300% in 10 years. I am very impressed by the Online Convention sponsored by Real Estate CyberSpace Society. The speakers and topics are extremely important and valuable but I am blow away most by the concept. They have taken the ideas of Web 2.0 and put them into an online presentation uses the best of interactive techniques and combining them with a usually tiresome but necessary practice: Attending conventions. Also included is an EXPO where you can explore new ideas without being crammed into a large convention center. I even could take breaks and play a few games.
