Most real estate agents don't realize this but the term "Farming" as it relates to real estate was coined by Tom Hopkins in the late 1960's. Two areas of training that made Tom famous in his early days was his farming concept which was unique at the time and how to list For Sale by Owners. I have had the pleasure of attending Tom's trainings on several occasions starting in 1984 when I obtained my first real estate license in Columbus, Ohio.
