rules: 32 Is All You Need to Succeed! - 01/22/09 09:45 AM
We all have ways of testing opportunities that enter our lives.  Some of us just dive right in based on feeling, others walk straight into what they know is right by a gut feeling or intuition.  And if it's not gut feelings or emotions that are the tests of opportunities, it is the logical mind persuading us to ignore those feelings and emotions and test it with our reality of reason.
Most of us do not have a predetermined strategy for testing opportunities, or even more generally to test the actions we take and the choices we make in our lives.

rules: Crash and Burn - 12/08/08 03:19 PM
Maverick Builder Rule of Failure
The Maverick Rule of Failure is that failure is probable and usual in success!
The main cause of failure is a conflict in agenda between business and ego.  Too many companies try to correct structures and platforms rather than just letting go.  Business feels the need to "reorganize" to pull out of the nose dive.
It would be better to pull the eject cord by recognizing failure early, cutting losses, and moving on!
Some businesses try to manage or make decision with numbers.  Big decisions - many people - one tribe.  Let us gather around the … (11 comments)

rules: Maverick Rule of Predictability - 12/02/08 07:42 AM
The Maverick Rule of Predictability is business, sales, and marketing plans based on what will happen in the future are usually wrong!
Well all good plans have to predict the future right?  Tell that to the weather man, or the book makers in Vegas.  What about IBM and Apple?  Who predicted their future?
Let's look at forecasting the competition's reaction to your plans.  It is important to consider what can and what if when making projections.  Also consider the long view versus the short view.  Most problems come from short-term financial thinking.
When planning in the short term, come up with … (0 comments)

rules: Maverick Rule of Sacrifice - 12/02/08 07:08 AM
The Maverick Rule of Sacrifice is that you have to give up something in order to get something!
This is very easy.  If you want to be success in your business today, give something up. The question always comes back to me is what is "something"?
In a small business there are usually 3 things:
•1.      Target market - Please tell me who wrote that you have to be all things to all people.  Where is it written that you have to appeal to everyone?  There seems to be a belief in the business today that a wider net catches more customers.  … (2 comments)

The Maverick Rule of Communication is "Find the line of least expected contact!"
Millions and Millions of dollars have been wasted on "touch" programs that could not … (3 comments)

Maverick Rules
The Maverick Rule of Networking
Rules.  Are you tired of rules yet?  Better question is do you follow rules?  Who writes the rules?  When someones says that is a unwritten rule, do you have to follow it?  People says rules are made to be broken.  Who made that rule?  Do Blondes really have more fun?  Is that a rule?
What about networking?  What rules do you follow?  Here are my ten.
•1.     Everything will fall into place if you are friendly.  likability and trust
•2.     Project your self-image of confidence in others.  handshake, dress, hair
•3.     Look someone in … (1 comments)

rules: What's Your Word? - 11/09/08 07:10 AM
Maverick Rules                                                                                                   The Maverick Rule of the Centering Maverick says "your words should be in the center of your prospects mind." When you own a word, just one small word in your prospects mind, you can become incredibly successful.Just one simple word right of the tip of your tongue. This law of centering will work because your shrink the focus of your client. You write the word right on their forehead. These words can come with different affects. They can be service related, sales related, benefit related, etc. What comes to mind when I write spreadsheet. Did you say Excel? I'll bet … (0 comments)
