Tuesday, December 20th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, The Black Rock Branch Library, 2705 Fairfield Avenue presents: Homeowners Assistance Program. Are you having trouble paying your mortgage? The FSW’s, Homeowners Assistance Program (HAP), in partnership with the City of Bridgeport, provides a grant of up to $4,000 to Bridgeport homeowners who are at least 60 days behind in their mortgage payments and are temporarily in a demonstrable financial crisis situation. It is still clearly a Buyer’s market in Fairfield, Bridgeport, and the Black Rock area of Bridgeport in 2011 so far with 12+ months of inventory (more than 6 months of inventory is considered a Buyer’s market).
Fairfield is holding steady on the number of two family properties sold, but prices have declined by 9%. Fewer two families are selling in Bridgeport, volume is down by 20%, and prices have declined by 10%. Black Rock is holding steady in terms of number of two family properties sold, but prices are down 22.

For the first time I can ever recall, Metro-North service on the New Haven line has been suspended due to the significant snowfall. Snow accumulations for the region have reached up to 18 inches in some areas. Latest Tweet from our Mayor, "All quiet in Bridgeport except Bluejays screeching, Crows calling. Bpt is SnowBeautiful!"
Sure is quiet outside. Unbelievable. I just took these pics from my windows of my street, garage, and backyard.

Due to the impending winter storm, Mayor Bill Finch has declared a snow emergency beginning today [Wednesday] at 5 p.m., extending through 5 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 27.
Residents must move their cars off posted snow emergency streets by 5 p.m. tonight. Snow emergency streets are marked with white signs with red lettering.

Bridgeport has declared a citywide snow emergency in effect now through Tuesday, Dec. 28 at 1 am. All city residents should heed alternate side of the street parking rules.
Sunday December 26 Residents should move their cars to the even side of the street today. On Monday, December 27, cars should be parked on the odd side of the street by 1 a.m.
