ar contest thanksgiving challenge: My Sisters - 11/03/19 06:26 PM
I love my sisters.
My three younger sisters. Avis, Linda, and Alice are building a house and will be living together. Hopefully, the house will be finished by Christmas. It is a 3BR/3.5BA Ranch, 2-car garage, screened-in back porch and an open floor plan with a large kitchen/family room. Avis is Linda's caregiver as she is legally blind and has health issues.

My sister Alice is so creative and talented. She is always available to give me advice or help me make a craft. Her Fall crafts were a big hit this year as well as … (32 comments)

ar contest thanksgiving challenge: I am so Thankful for Turkeys - 11/19/18 07:32 PM
Ah yes, turkeys! What would Thanksgiving be like without turkey, dressing, gravy, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, etc.  It was and still is a tradition to have turkey every Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Turkeys are big enough to feed a crowd... true for my family! Turkey dinner went a long way with a large family of 11 children.  And, really it is an easy dinner to fix. I usually prepare my turkey the night before. Sometimes, I get up at 4am and put the turkey on and you can imagine the wonderful smell when you wake up that morning.  I remember this so well … (25 comments)

ar contest thanksgiving challenge: I am so Thankful for Water - 11/19/18 07:28 PM
I am so thankful for good clean water.  I drink about 64+ ounces of water a day, I cook, clean, wash clothes and shower daily and can not imagine not having clean water to do these tasks.  Have you ever thought what it would be like to have dirty water or no water at all.
Did you know that 663 million people in the world live without clean water. That’s nearly 1 in 10 people worldwide. Or, twice the population of the United States. The majority live in isolated rural areas and spend hours every day walking to collect water for their … (52 comments)

ar contest thanksgiving challenge: I am Thankful for Veterans Day - 11/02/18 07:29 PM
Today is Veteran's Day, and I am thankful for all who have served our country and protected our freedoms.
Veterans Day is a day to remember and honor those who have served.  They give up so much for protecting our country. I am so grateful to know about my husband's two great uncles, Julien Gaujot and Antoine “Tony” Gaujot. The two brothers were awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.
It is indeed an honor to be a part of this family and to acknowledge two great men who served our country...
The Medal of Honor is the United States of America's highest and most prestigious … (18 comments)

Okay ladies, I know that we are all thankful for our husbands. Yes, just as the men are thankful for their wives.
We have all heard of mail order brides, but did you know that there is a Mail Order Husbands.NET.  If you are in the market for a husband, you may want to check it out.  :)
Okay, I digress.  I am thankful for my husband, Claude Gaujot, because he is my best friend in good times and my rock in bad times. He is my confidant, lover and soulmate. I love this man and I am proud to be his … (20 comments)

Claude is the reason I got into real estate. Back while we were dating we were talking about read estate and he said I would make a great agent. The subject of real estate came up often in our conversations. Make a long story short, he helped me study for … (17 comments)

This Thanksgiving challenge we are to write a post a day for what we are thankful for.  I am thankful that the flood this past June did not damage our home. So many families lost their homes and loved ones.
I am thankful for all the good work The Greenbrier has done for the communities in southern West Virginia. Special thanks to Jim Justice the owner of The Greenbrier Resort located in White Sulphur Springs, WV.
The photo above depicts the flood waters at the Greenbrier; the one below is how it looked before the flood.

ar contest thanksgiving challenge: I Am Thankfor Day 3 - For These Warm Sunny Days - 11/18/16 02:05 AM
This week has just been wonderful.  With temps in the 50s and yesterday and today with temps in the high 60s and low 70s.  I am so thankful for these warm sunny days. The sky is so blue today, with not a cloud in the sky.
It is a great time to get the leaves raked, and yes put out the Christmas decorations.  Some of the neighbors have started putting up their Christmas lights before the snow comes.  That's right we are supposed to get colder temps and perhaps some snow on Sunday.  That's okay I have at least enjoyed the … (13 comments)

ar contest thanksgiving challenge: I am Thankful for Zeke - 11/16/16 01:37 AM
I just returned from a 2-mile walk with Zeke, our chocolate lab, and went to check out my Active Rain comments. I noticed that we have another contest this month by Debbie Reynolds, a Ten Day Thanksgiving Post Challenge.
So, for today I am very thankful for Zeke, my four-legged love! We had a great walk today. As always, we take a ball for Zeke.  I throw and he fetches. Sometimes he will bring it back to me to fetch again, lots of times he plays, keep away. He will walk around the park the entire two miles with the ball in … (19 comments)
