ar contests: I am so Thankful for our Furbaby, Zeke - 11/13/18 08:15 PM
Zeke, our Chocolate Lab is eleven and still acts like a puppy. When I look into Zeke's beautiful brown eyes I see so much love........ unconditional love! As I was pondering this, and thanking God for Zeke, it hit me that Dog spelled backwards is God, and we all know how much God loves each and everyone of us. So, I know if I were to look into God's eyes I would see the same love ....unconditional love!

Be sure and thank God for your pet(s). God gave us such beautiful animals to love and enjoy while they are here for only … (28 comments)

ar contests: I am Thankful for my Broker, Martha Hilton - 11/08/18 08:29 PM
Have you ever known a woman and wonder where in the heck does she get all that energy.  Well, that is my broker, Martha Hilton.  She is like Wonder Woman! Always on the move and going, going, going, like the energizer bunny.

When you are around Martha you feel the energy and want to be energectic. But, at my age sometimes it takes me longer to get energized!

Martha has a caring, loving,  spirit. I know if I needed her support or help, she would be there in a heartbeat.

Martha is a member of the Lewisburg Rotary and is a past president. … (11 comments)

ar contests: I am Thankful for my Small Town, Lewisburg WV - 11/08/18 08:27 PM
I lived and worked in the Washington DC Metropolitan area for 35 years. I lived mostly in the Northern Virginia area..... Alexandria, Arlington, McLean, and Annandale Virginia.  When I had decided to retire, my husband suggested we move back to our roots... West Virginia.  I am absolutely so happy living here in Lewisburg, West Virginia.

Yes it is small compared to Northern Virginia. The population is about 4400. We don't have the large malls, department stores, large specialty food stores like Macy's, Trader Joe's, etc.  The really nice thing about going to the local stores, shopping or going to the office is … (13 comments)

ar contests: My New Profile Photo - 10/25/18 09:24 PM
Well, I've finally updated my profile photo. Of course, if it wasn't for Paul Henderson's October 2018 Update your Profile Challenge, I probably would not have changed the photo.

My last photo update was about three-four years ago. My husband took the photo in August at my birthday dinner.

My new photo was taken on Wednesday, October 25 at the Greenbrier Valley Board of Realtors monthly meeting/dinner. Here is a photo of our table, Vision Quest Realty, with only a few of the agents in attendance.

To get my new profile photo, I cropped my head, and then straightened my head in the photo as … (36 comments)

ar contests: It Took a While, But We Finally Got to Closing - I love my job! - 02/01/17 06:01 PM
Sold and Closed 3BR House on One Acre in Rainelle, WV

After losing their home in Rainelle due to the June 2016 flood, my buyers are homeowners once again.  While searching for a home, the buyers lived with relatives for three months. They made an offer on a house with 23 acres. A few days before closing we were told the loan would not be approved. Heartbroken, mad and at their wits end, the buyers made an offer to lease with the option to buy the below house. After seven months, we closed today on this beautiful ranch house on 1.04 acres … (34 comments)

ar contests: My Crystal Ball Predictions - 01/04/17 03:16 PM

Praful Thakkar asks Active Rain members to Get Out Your Crystal Balls: What is your prediction for 2017.  Alas, I do not have a crystal ball and can not predict the future or would want to.
However,  I think 2017 is the year of hope and that real estate in West Virginia will start to pick up.  Coal miners are being called back to work and that is a very good sign. Interest rates are going up but not so much perhaps 4.5%. I hope I'm right about this. Still it's a great rate and hopefully, buyers will get off the … (35 comments)

ar contests: I am Thankful for all the Good Work The Greenbrier Does for our Communities - 11/18/16 09:22 PM

This Thanksgiving challenge we are to write a post a day for what we are thankful for.  I am thankful that the flood this past June did not damage our home. So many families lost their homes and loved ones.

I am thankful for all the good work The Greenbrier has done for the communities in southern West Virginia. Special thanks to Jim Justice the owner of The Greenbrier Resort located in White Sulphur Springs, WV.

The photo above depicts the flood waters at the Greenbrier; the one below is how it looked before the flood.

ar contests: The Exterior Beckons You Inside - 11/13/16 11:57 AM

The photo below is a listing of a Bed and Breakfast located in White Sulphur Springs, WV, one mile from the famous Greenbrier Resort.  I love this all-brick 1819 historical house with the large front porch. It seems to beckon you to come inside!  This house reminds me of southern comfort. My husband and I have stayed in this B&B while building our home in Lewisburg, WV.  We spent a few evenings on the porch with the owner hearing the history of this old historic home.

This is my entry for Dick Greenberg's Photography Contest,

ar contests: Branding Photo of a Listing, 4BR/4BA House for Sale on 41 Acres, Renick WV - 11/10/16 12:15 PM

Branding photos of my listings is so easy using Realbird.com   The photo below is a beautiful listing of an A-frame, 1.5 story, 4BR/4BA house with heated floors on the main floor and the entire basement.

I love the background of this photo and use it as my primary MLS photo. The trees are nestled around the house and seem to be protecting the house situated on 41.25 acres.

I used my Samsung Android Edge phone to capture this lovely setting. It was the middle of August and a beautiful day for photos.
I have also posted this photo to social media … (11 comments)

ar contests: What Retirees/Seniors want in their West Virginia Dream Home - 06/21/14 12:19 AM
What Retirees/Seniors want in their West Virginia Dream Home

Beazer Homes and ActiveRain have challenged bloggers to write about a feature that we would most like to see in a new home.  As a Lewisburg, WV Realtor, I get many calls from retirees/seniors looking for a gated community with one-level homes (patio or detached homes).  We do not have any patio homes or one-level homes in a gated community in Lewisburg WV.

Retirees out of state and seniors that live here would like a nice gated community.  Most say that they want to live in West Virginia six … (12 comments)

Rebecca's Goals for 2013, Social Media Sites

We were asked to write our business plan or goals for 2014 for the January Cloudburst 2014.  So, I'll list my goals that I would like to complete this year for my business.
Two years ago I got a wordpress website, but now it seems I need to update this site, do some cleanup and perhaps change the format.  Another big goal for me is to check out my social media sites... Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Youtube, and Pinterest ... to ensure I am marketing myself and my business effectively.  I've missed … (12 comments)
