Fishhawk Lake-MeetUp! What FUN! Tuesday, 8.12.14 Yesterday morning started with a horrific thunderstorm and 171 strikes of lightning and a power outtage all in the Birkenfeld area (my home at Fishhawk Lake). But, do you think that deterred me from heading to Camas, WA about an hour and a half away for our MeetUp of ActiveRain folk? NO WAY! I was only about 10 minutes late and beyond excited to be there. From Fishhawk Lake: The Three Amigas Travel Log I’m just going to share one day in our “Retreat at Fishhawk Lake” with Debb Janes, Mel Peterson and me. Since the weather was inclement, hiking, and lots of boatrides were out of the question. What’s a girl (or three) to do? Why, eating and shopping are the answer!

After a wild week last week with visits from my dear ActiveRain friends, Debb Janes and Mel Peterson, (their recent blogs,mine to come soon) the very day that they left my husband brought home our newest “addition”. Kasa Jenna Boxman is our new Golden Retriever, eight weeks old today. Today I took her and her mentor, our 3-year-old Golden, Takoda (Mr. “T”) to the office with me for some “floor time”. This video shows how they did as Greeters for Vernonia Realty.

debb janes: Fishhawk Lake Real Estate-Fresh Water Fish

Being motivated by some of my videoblogging buddies on ActiveRain (Debb Janes, Richard Yates, and Michael Thornton just to name three), I decided one evening to capture footage while watching our African Cichlids (freshwater fish from Lake Malawi in Africa, the third largest lake there) in our 110 gallon freshwater tank. Since I work mostly from home as my base, and have many clients meet me here, it’s always fun to turn on the lights of the tank, especially if I know kids are coming. Inevitably, people are immediately drawn to it as they head past the entry.
It started yesterday at Fishhawk Lake and I had our driveway all shoveled off and lo and behold, this early AM brought me another white gift. Thanks, Mother Nature! I again tackled our sloped stamped concrete driveway. I would NEVER suggest someone have this kind of driveway at Fishhawk Lake! Not only do you fall down because it gets slippery, but when the weather gets bad, you need to park your vehicle somewhere FLAT and with gravel, because you could ruin this beautiful driveway. Fishhawk Lake Real Estate-- Sacks and the City-Goodwill Shopping Portland Oregon--A Real FIND! After driving into town from Fishhawk Lake to meet other ActiveRain members for a soiree at 50Plates in the Pearl District, a few of us decided that we needed to go shopping before we all headed our different directions home.
Melinda Peterson, principal broker located in Grants Pass (and my friend!)
had been told about the Goodwill in downtown Portland located on SW 10th and Taylor. Her friend said that it was quite upscale and so Debb Janes, broker out of Camas, WA (also my friend)
