A: There are two towns to go for grocery shopping, both about a 1/2 hour away. Clatskanie has a Safeway, pharmacy, and post office, restaurants, shops, etc. It is 18 miles from Fishhawk Lake on Hwy 47N to Hwy 30 from Mist. Here is one of the many viewpoints while traveling on Hwy 47N through Mist Oregon on the way to Clatskanie. Vernonia is 24 miles, but takes about the same amount of time from Hwy 202 to Hwy 47South. "It's Just Like Hawaii Wait Ten Minutes"! I'm not one to talk about the weather much unless prompted. It does come up often with my buyers, though. "What's the weather like at Fishhawk Lake? Do you get much rain? How about snow, does it snow there??" The weather can change on a dime, and seems to often when I'm showing property. So, if it starts to rain, I will say (as we're inside a lakefront home, looking at the shower going on outside), "It's just like Hawaii, wait ten minutes!"
