Fishhawk Lake Full Time Living in Winter Alternative Power After having lived in this community full time for over 11 years, one of the learning experiences that I can pass onto my buyers who want to live here full time, is to think about potential power outages and what you can prepare for when those do happen. Because of storms, winds, trees falling, ice on powerlines, etc. there are any number of opportunities for you to lose power while you live here at Fishhawk Lake. Woke up to a blue-white morning. (My husband is stuck in Vegas, so I'll send this to him to remind him of the beauty of Fishhawk Lake). Nothing like the early golden lights coming from a cabin on the lake on a cold morning. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
It started yesterday at Fishhawk Lake and I had our driveway all shoveled off and lo and behold, this early AM brought me another white gift. Thanks, Mother Nature! I again tackled our sloped stamped concrete driveway. I would NEVER suggest someone have this kind of driveway at Fishhawk Lake! Not only do you fall down because it gets slippery, but when the weather gets bad, you need to park your vehicle somewhere FLAT and with gravel, because you could ruin this beautiful driveway. Winter photo ops come often at Fishhawk Lake. I decided to look through my photo archives for more pictures that I’ve taken since moving here fulltime in 2006. So, here we go!
This was the view from my old home at the first entrance to Fishhawk Lake, on Northshore Drive, where the spillway and fishladder are.
This cabin was built at Fishhawk Lake by a bunch of brothers from Alaska for their sister. Truly a log cabin at the lake!
