desert heritage: Promote Yourself - 09/14/09 03:24 AM
It has been said, "If you don't go out and tell prospects how good your product [service] is: it's like winking at a girl in the dark -- you know it but she doesn't." As real estate practitioners we must promote our services and what we can do for our clients in any way possible. Some long time agents shy away from the new social media and will not adapt and blog.
It is a good time examine your marketing approach. How do clients find you? Can they find you and if so do they understand your specialty and how you can … (5 comments)

desert heritage: Warnings - 09/05/09 05:30 PM
I was in the grocery store this afternoon and as I was checking out several patrons left with their purchases and one set off the noisy "inventory control device". The purpose of this device and the loud sound is to help prevent customers from taking unpaid items from the store. The intent is good but as the sound went off, almost everyone either glanced at the door or ignored the sound completely. Not one employee went to check and see if anything was amiss. Every time I have been in the store when this has happened the same scenario happens. Nothing!

desert heritage: What does the Graphic Say??? - 09/05/09 05:16 AM
When you get to the bottom of a post to leave a comment sometimes a box appears and the comment asks "What does the graphic say?" Occasionally a real word is listed but most of the time the "word" is  gibberish. I chuckle at some of the graphics listed and as I was entering one today I thought, who thinks up these graphics? What an interesting job to come up with a combination of gibberish to make sure spam isn't getting through. How creative would I needto be to come up with millions of combinations to save us all? Has anyone else noticed or thought about these words?
Now before … (3 comments)

desert heritage: What Do You Really Think? - 09/03/09 06:52 AM
I am fascinated with the number of people who read blog posts and never leave a comment, positive, negative or neutral. I wonder if they agree, disagree or don't care. It would be interesting to know some of the thoughts of readers. How about you? Care to get involved and comment?

desert heritage: Arizona - Experience All of It - 09/02/09 04:54 PM
Arizona is a great place to live and enjoy all the beauties mother nature has to offer. Arizona is known as the Grand Canyon State and the picture is just one of the many gorgeous views of this incredible wonder.
There is so much to do year around from golf, hiking, Sedona jeep tours, the Fiesta Bowl, FBR Open tournament in January and many more activities. If you are coming to Arizona one of the first things to do is take few extra days and visit the Grand Canyon.
Words can not describe the magnificent beauty and the awesome work of mother nature. It will take … (1 comments)

desert heritage: Tact & Courtesy - 08/28/09 06:39 AM
Someone once said, "The nearer one person is to another, the more necessary is tact and courtesy." As Real Estate Professionals we work closely with each other so tact and courtesy should be paramount in our dealings and relationships. It is so satisfying to work with an agent on a sale where communication is clear, concise, and timely and the transaction is completed in a win-win situation. On the other hand it is one of the most miserable experiences when there is no communication, tact or courteous behavior. Hopefully, more agents will realized it is to there advantage and professionalism to … (4 comments)

desert heritage: You Only Think You Are All That - 08/26/09 01:21 PM
I try to be a very positive person and I hate to rant and complain. But to all Arizona Real Estate Agents who are to "important" to give updates and communicate on short sales or bank owned property offers, the reality is: You only think you are special and "all that." Actually, you are rude, insensitive, unprofessional, and lack character.
You may have tons of listings and things may be going your way right now, and that is your excuse as to why you can't perform a simple phone call or return an email. The day will come when your rude behavior will … (6 comments)

desert heritage: Aim - 08/20/09 06:36 AM
"In the long run, men hit what they aim at, therefore, they had better aim at something high," stated Henry David Thoreau. How high is your aim? Have you set your goals for real estate success high. Thoreau's wisdom should be taken to heart, set goals high and then work like crazy to hit them. It will stretch us to the limit and that will help us grow.
Remember, if you hit your goals they can be adjusted and your personal growth will be enhanced. Now is a good time to review where you are and to adjust where necessary. Aim … (0 comments)

desert heritage: Scam Request - 08/18/09 04:07 PM
I don't know how many of you have received the "scam" letter from Senator Wilson Asinobi Ake of Nigeria, but this is a heads up that you might receive one. This letter has been going around for at least two years with the sender asking for help to purchase a home/property for over 4.5 million dollars although the amount varies depending upon where the letter is sent.
Just some information for all my Real Estate friends.

desert heritage: Surprise City Hall - Wow - 07/24/09 09:23 AM
The new Surprise City Hall is open and the four-story 134,000 square foot north building housing the city staff and council chambers is beautiful. Right next to this building to the south is the one-story 26,000 square foot facility that is home to Rio Salado  Colleges' Communiversity. Rio Salado offers two and four year degrees.
This complex is quite a contrast to the old dilapedated facility utilized for so many years on Bell Road. I can only describe the new facility in one word - WOW! The buldings feature natural stone elements that tie in Surprise's western backdrop - the White Tank … (2 comments)

desert heritage: Agent to Agent Courtesy - Out of Style? - 07/26/08 09:45 AM
I must admit, I'm old school. So please help me understand in this new reality why agents being courteous to other agents isn't necessary, because I am lost.
I faxed an offer to an agent and then followed up several hours later with an email to verify that they had received the offer. Now 24 hours later I still have received no word from the agent. I called and left a message on their phone, still no call. I realize that in this short sale market it takes weeks to get acceptance or rejection, but a return call or email saying that the offer was … (15 comments)
