grateful: Pursue Peace - 12/11/18 08:57 AM

The Webster's Definition of Peace: a state of tranquility or quiet; such as:
a. Freedom from civil disturbance Peace and order were finally resotred in the town.
b. A state of security or order within a community provedied by law or custom a breach of the peace.
c. Harmony in personal relations, the sisters are at peace with each other.
d. Used interjectionally to ask for silence or calm or as a greeting or farewell at peace.

C & D are probably ones that we should all strive to do or say, because that goes right along with Romans 12:18 "If possible, so far as … (1 comments)

grateful: Do Good and Good will come back to you. - 12/06/18 11:35 AM
I think back on what my mother in law/love always use to say to all of her children, grandchildren and great grands, "Do good and good will come back to you".  This statement is so true, it's like the Golden Rule, "You do unto others as you would have them to unto you".  We all want good to come back to us, but do we dish out the good that we want? We all have to make a conscious decisions to do good, it's so easy to try to get back at someone who has done us wrong, or as we … (14 comments)

grateful: If I Could Turn Back the Hands of Time - 12/06/18 11:00 AM
This is a quote from a song, "If I Could Turn Back the Hands of Time" by Tyrone Davis.
How many of us truly wish we could turn back the hands of time? I'm not sure there's not one person that would say, NO Thank You. Especially with the knowledge we have today and all the experiences that we've gained.  I think most of us would go back and undo the wrongs that we've done and fix the errors or all of the "I told you so's" from our parents. It's amazing at the age I'm at now and with all of … (11 comments)

grateful: Thankful for being a grandparent - Day 9 - 11/21/18 07:04 PM
I'm so honored to be called "Grandma, Granny, or Nanna". I count it an honor and a privilege and do not take it lightly.  My grandchildren are all considered my favorite little people.  It's so amazing to me to see my grown children in them.  The way they smile or do things always puts me in mind when mine were little, and how time really does go by so fast.  Seems like only a few years ago, mine were in school and now about to go to high school.  Now, each one has their own lives, homes, and children.  My son … (10 comments)

grateful: Thankful for the gift of giving - Day 10 - 11/21/18 06:44 PM
I'm so thankful for having the ability to give and help someone in need or just because.  We always think of giving in forms of money or something you go out and buy for someone, a nice big gift.  Sometimes you can just give an ear to listen, a hug to comfort, a smile to make someone feel welcome, a handshake to greet someone.  We should always try to find it in our hearts to give something, whether it's your time, talent, and then your treasure. The smallest things sometimes can be the largest thing to someone else. Take the time … (4 comments)

grateful: Thankful for my home - Day 8 - 11/19/18 12:32 PM
I'm so thankful for my home, a roof over my head, a place to lay my head down on a soft pillow and a warm bed.  I'm also so grateful for my fireplace that we can sit by and enjoy the warmth of the fire while watching TV. It seems as if we're in our Winter season already here in Michigan, with temperatures dropping to the low 20's and only in the mid 30's during the day.  There are people with no homes, and no place to call home to lay their heads down on a soft pillow and a warm bed.

grateful: Thankful for Days off - Day 7 - 11/18/18 07:31 PM
I'm so thankful for having a day off.  A day where you can really relax, unwind, and just do nothing.  You have to find the time to recoup your mind, body, and spirit.  You have to sometimes take some "me time".  It really does your body some good! I've known people who believe that they have to keep going and keep doing.  But in reality, they're really only hurting themselves.  There's nothing like feeling refreshed and relaxed.  I'm so thankful for my official day off.  It doesn't matter which day you take, but take a day, even start with maybe a half … (2 comments)

grateful: Thankful for failures - Day 6 - 11/16/18 07:44 PM
I'm thankful for the many failures in my life.  Without failures, there would not be any success stories. A quote from John Maxwell, "Every successful person is someone who failed, yet never regarded himself as a failure." A few examples that we all know, the artist Vincent Van Gogh, sold only one painting in his lifetime, yet his paintings now set records for the sums they bring at auctions.  Thomas Edison, he's noted to be the most prolific inventors in history, yet as a youngster he was considered unteachable. Albert Einstein, the greatest thinker of our time, yet his teacher told … (5 comments)

grateful: Thankful for great friends - Day 5 - 11/13/18 06:36 PM
I'm so grateful and thankful for not only friends, but great friends.  I have friends that are more like family, those are the ones that you can count on through thick and thin.  They're the ones, that will tell you like it is, and not hold back on the truth, the good, and the bad. We all need family and friends that you know you can count on.  We all need a friend or maybe even two. That friend who's not afraid tell you the truth and nothing but the truth.  Things that we don't want to hear, but knowing that … (6 comments)

grateful: Thankful for those serving - Day 3 - 11/11/18 06:20 PM
I'm so grateful and thankful for all those serving. I come from a family with many who have served and are still serving.  It's because of those that have served our country and died for the freedoms we now have today, make America what it is now.  Could it be better? Yes, can we do more? Yes! We really need to help those who have served and who are still serving. How can we help? By voting.  Take the opportunity to do your research on those in your City, County, and State.
I'm thankful that my dad made a decision when … (5 comments)

grateful: Thankful for Family - Day 2 - 11/09/18 08:40 AM
When I think about the things that I'm so grateful and thankful for, I think of my family first.  I'm truly honored to be called a wife, mother, and now grandmother.  I will always be a daughter first, but having the other three titles is truly a blessing.
I think about the years and the different paths that I have taken, all the right and wrongs that I may have done, all the turns and miss turns that I missed or forgot to take. All the decisions that I made day to day, and that in every decision that I made, … (2 comments)

grateful: Thankful For Another Day - Day 1 - 11/07/18 09:52 AM
I'm always thankful for yet another day.  I always like to count my blessings and concentrate on those things that are good.  We sometimes forget how good we actually have it. We start thinking on those things that make us feel bad, sad, or even mad.  We tend to let our feelings drive our day, in which they will make our attitudes reflect our feelings.
My parents use to say, "Check your feelings before you put your feet on the floor when you wake up in the morning".  You woke up!  Thank the good Lord, you are on this side of the … (6 comments)
