asking questions: Keep Those Mortgage Questions Coming! - 12/29/15 02:43 AM
Keep Those Mortgage Questions Coming!

Maybe because of the timing of the release of Fannie Mae's new mortgage program ... that being December 21st during the week leading up to the 2015 Christmas Holiday ... the fanfare and media hoopla that typically surrounds the release of a new mortgage option for First-Time Home Buyers was somewhat drowned out.  Many people's attention, both public and professional, was simply directed elsewhere to a large degree on that day.

So given that timing, I was particularly happy to receive the large number of questions and the feedback I did to my recent post … (11 comments)

asking questions: 50% of Homebuyers Don't Do This. Will You? - 01/13/15 04:09 AM

50% of Homebuyers Don't Do This.  Will You?
The first article I read this morning stated ...

"Americans may be spending more time shopping for shoes than for a mortgage, a report from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau suggests. Almost half of consumers seeking a loan to purchase a home do not shop lenders, the agency said Tuesday."               (" Nearly half of  home buyers don't shop for a mortgage") Diana Olick | Kelley Holland

From experience, I can't say that statistic surprises me.  I've written on that topic before.
In previous posts, I've provided a roadmap … (81 comments)

For today's Borrowers, it's all about finding a mortgage solution
and mortgage package that's a personal and custom fit
for their specific goals and needs.  Both in the short and long term ...

             Ever hear the sayings ....

The whole is equal to the sum of the parts?
or ...         The whole is greater than the sum of the parts?
Both come from a theory of   Professor Albert Einstein's.  And in them, I believe you … (8 comments)

asking questions: Ready, Willing, and Able. Yep ... I'm THAT Easy ... - 04/05/12 06:36 AM

Ready, Willing, and Able.   Yep, I'm THAT Easy ...           Ever hear the line, "There are no stupid questions"??            Well, I think it's VERY true ... especially when you're talking about buying homes or mortgage financing.       NO question is too simple, too far left-field, or too inconsequential to be asked.  If, as a Buyer or mortgage client, you don't have the answers you need to comfortably move forward at ANY step of the home buying and mortgage process ...      ASK!   Ask questions!       As a mortgage lender, I LOVE questions!  I … (16 comments)

Answering Mortgage and Credit-Related Questions
and Connecting the Dots ...
How Can I Help??

     Sometimes I wonder ...

Am I really getting through to my clients?  My referral partners?

Now I know there are ways to measure some of that.  Analytics are available and increasingly detailed for your website, social media, and more.

But I still sometimes wonder ... am I providing the information or answers to questions that are really on the minds of those finding and engaging me?

     I remember having some heart-to-hearts with … (6 comments)

asking questions: Home Buying ... Education! Education! Education! - 01/18/10 07:52 AM

Buying a home during today's challenging market can be intimidating.  Seeking the financing for that home ... frightening ... especially if it's the first time you've ever done so.

The media can be full of horror stories of confusion, distrust, and fraud.  The perception is that evil lenders or real estate professionals lurk around every corner.  Traps are everywhere.
The truth is ... the real estate and financing industry is much like any other.  There are good and bad within these professions.  But, that being said, precautions do need to be taken to insure that you end up finding and … (2 comments)
