Are You a Millennial Hoping to Buy a Home?Solutions Exist to Address the Challenges You Face It's no secret ... Today's younger generation is finding it much more challenging to buy a home than their parents did. That's troubling and sad, as 9 out of 10 millennials report they want to buy a home. A recent revealing survey released by Apartment List shows that:
1. Only 4.9% of those millennials (those born 1981-1996 (22 to 37 years old) that want to buy a home say they will achieve their homeownership goal within the coming year 2. Around 34% of those hoping to buy a home believe they'll have to wait over 5 years to do so

Listen, I'm not trying to be evasive or cute with my answer here.
By nature ... and because I'm a Mortgage Originator ... I'm typically a huge proponent of saving money. As a rule, I firmly believe that budgeting resources and saving money should be a major focus and goal. So saying, "it depends", cuts a bit across the grain for me.
But as the old saying goes, "there is an exception to every rule" ... The "exception" in this case, revolves around the myth supporting the absolute need for a 20% down payment when buying (27 comments)
It seems like a lifetime ago, but in actuality, it’s only been (approximately) 8 years since our nation’s housing crisis began … Since that time, there has been a tightening of Mortgage Underwriting Standards. Much needed, as it’s obvious that the underwriting and lending standards previous to the crisis were way too lax. Spreading Gossip, One Person at a Time Yesterday, I wrote a blog entitled, "Renters Growing More Optimistic About Buying ... "Here Comes the Sun". It told of the growing confidence that Americans are once-again increasingly showing in becoming home owners. The American Dream is still alive. On one of the forums in which I posted this blog, many of those commenting stated that they just didn't think that potential home buyers knew of all the mortgage program options that exist for home buying currently ... especially those mortgage programs that exist (49 comments)
