2018 - Holiday Shopping Safety Tips Today's brisk cool wind reminds me, another summer with its warm sunny days is in our rearview mirror ... Brrrrrrr! It also reminded me that the Holidays are just around the corner! Of course, that means holiday commercials will soon be running on our TVs 24/7 ... and Holiday shopping will once again be on our minds. Experience tells me that one thing is inevitable during those upcoming holiday shopping trips. You'll be asked if you want to apply for a new credit card while checking-out at store registers. Because of that, each year I've written posts warning of the credit and financial "dangers" that lurk while Holiday Shopping. Each

Prepare Your Credit & Finances for the Upcoming Holidays Now! I know. I know. The Holidays are still months away. And I've touched-upon this topic before ... But I think it's important ... and increasingly, people are planning for the Holidays and beginning to shop for the Holidays earlier and earlier in the year. So I'm thinking NOW ... even though it's warm out ... is the perfect time to make plans regarding your budget, credit/credit cards, and finances for this year's Holiday celebrations and expenditures. Anticipating and planning

Sending Holiday Wishes To You and Yours! The Mundt family has been celebrating Christmas and the Holidays early this year ... Our family is growing once again. We're eagerly awaiting the birth of another grandbaby any day now. Celebrations and get-togethers were bumped-up to accommodate our greatly-anticipated new arrival ... and one very tired expectant mommy. I know that my family and I are not alone in our busy schedules, our joys, and many celebrations ... so I'm sending my holiday message and a small "gift" a bit early.

holidays: Life During the Holidays: "The Hurrier I Go, the Behinder I Get"
- 12/05/13 04:24 AM
Life During the Holidays: "The Hurrier I Go, the Behinder I Get" "The hurrier I go, the behinder I get" ... The above is a line from the children's storybook, "Alice in Wonderland" written by Lewis Carroll ... but it definitely describes my life and home as of late. Seems the faster I go and the more I tackle, the more I find I still have to conquer and accomplish. I feel I'm running behind. Others around me are experiencing much the same thing. Like me, they're "wrapping up" more than presents

holidays: Sending Holiday Wishes!
- 12/24/12 05:34 AM
Sending Holiday Wishes! Each year I find myself wishing the Holidays would become simpler. And perhaps naively after our 2 boys became older, were out on their own, and then had their own families ... I thought that'd become true. Nope! Add two grandbabies into the mix, along with a new business office and venture during the year, and life in general becoming more hectic ... and my wish simply didn't become reality. At least not yet. But I wouldn't change a thing. I'm blessed and

holidays: A Life-Changing Recipe for Your Upcoming Holidays
- 10/03/12 06:56 AM
A Life-Changing Recipe for Your Upcoming Holidays A couple days back, while catching up on some reading and the posts of some of my favorite ActiveRain bloggers, I ran across a plea from Donna Foerster, (Rocky Mountain Real Estate Advisors, Metro Denver, CO) for good pumpkin bread recipes. As my wife will attest, I'm a darn good eater and rarely forget a recipe that I find particularly good. In my eyes, that described my wife's pumpkin bread recipe ... and I had Marilyn send it off to Donna. That little conversation got my

holidays: Do you know how OLD your tires are? Your life could depend on it.
- 11/20/10 02:48 AM
Cynthia Larsen (Broker/Owner of Safe Haven Realty, Sonoma County), CA) really takes the name of her agency to heart and new heights ... SAFE Haven ... with this post. The information contained within this post is especially timely, given the number of folks that hit the road over the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend. Take the time to read, digest, and check ... your own vehicle's tires. Your "cargo" is precious. Do everything you can to protect them. You also might want to think about passing this info to as many of your friends, family members, co-workers, etc. that you can. Thanks again to Cynthia Larsen

holidays: "Tis the Season!" Will You Help?
- 11/30/09 04:27 AM
I'm not usually one to wear causes on my sleeve for everyone to see ... unless I deem it truly important or something that will undeniably assist in positive change or action. I just read (again) that donations and contributions for the needy during this holiday season are way down across our nation. Understandably so, as fewer people and businesses are capable of giving as they have in the past. Who within our industry does not understand stand that? Recently, my wife and I ran across a charitable request and avenue for

holidays: Planning! Protection! Preparation! Action! ... The New Year is Just Around the Corner!
- 11/20/09 05:22 AM
I know many people are already into the thick of their Holiday shopping or making plans for gift giving and party hosting. Especially in this day and age, planning for the expenditures of the holiday season is extremely important. It's also true that in the present challenging financial climate "execution" of your holiday plans can be even more important. It's easy to fall into the lure and "trap" of holiday spending! Figuring a budget for holiday spending and sticking to it isn't always easy, but maintaining a level head regarding expenditures protects your finances and credit ratings down the road.

holidays: Holiday Newsletters! The gift that keeps on giving ...
- 11/19/09 08:25 AM
This last week or two I've been planning and writing my upcoming Holiday Newsletter. My wife and I work together on this effort and have a great time while doing so. I mail an actual print newsletter about every other month to all those within my database. Attorneys, accountants, mortgage customers, realtors, friends, relatives, and more are all recipients. Typically the articles featured within this marketing piece are of an informative nature or offer up assistance on mortgage lending, home buying/selling, financial, or home care needs. The intent of the Holiday Newsletter is quite different though from those that
