AFTER Your Mortgage Closing:
Keeping the Lines of Communication Flowing

This post, although specifically aimed at my mortgage clients, contains a message that can pertain to other service provider's customers too ...
       The topic?  Communication!
Specifically, the lines of communication established during our Mortgage Process and Closing together ... and the great importance of keeping those lines of communication open after your Closing is over.
As your Mortgage Lender, I believe that one of the most important elements of the service I provide you concerns your mortgage and credit "education".  The better you're educated and informed … (24 comments)

mortgage services: Pre-Approvals: Are They Mortgage Zombies? - 10/03/13 11:37 PM
Pre-Approvals:  Are They Mortgage Zombies?
A recent Wall Street Journal article discussed the decline of Pre-Approval applications among top Lenders and Banks.  The statistics they offer show that Pre-Approvals have pretty much died as a tool or service offered by many Banks and Lender.  Just like Zombies, they are dead, but still walking.
For purposes of defining a Pre-Approval used within that WSJ article, a Pre-Approval is deemed to be:        A full Loan Application.  Signed, documented with Credit Reports, Paystubs, W-2's or 1099's, Federal Tax Returns, Bank Statements, processed by a Lender, and submitted to an … (9 comments)

Paul McFadden of The Legacy Group in Bellevue, WA Mortgage Originator
The definition found for the words "mortgage originator" on read ...

"An institution or individual that works with a borrower to complete a mortgage transaction".

A rather brief description for a profession that demands and requires much from an individual, if performed well and correctly.

Being a mortgage originator myself, and having been in the mortgage business for over 35 years ... I believe I have come to have my own definition of what a good "mortgage … (4 comments)

mortgage services: "Tooting Your Own Horn" Through Your Marketing. Is it the beautiful music of confidence or the noise of conceit? - 10/25/11 02:31 PM
It was with some irony that I read Scott Hayes', Austin Real Estate Agency, recent blog entitled, "Are You a Bargain"? My wife and I had just had a discussion a couple of days ago regarding a theme very similar to Scott's post.
Now as a background for those that might be new to my blog, my wife Marilyn is my marketing assistant. Well okay, in actuality, she's my promoter. (A rather unusual set-up maybe, but one that seems to work very well for us.) In my dear wife's eyes, I'm a shining star of the lending profession. Simply … (12 comments)

mortgage services: "That Just Ain't Right". Examining Your Marketing Methods and Services ... - 07/12/11 05:53 AM
Periodically, our cable will run the "Blue Collar Comedy Tour". That was the case once again this last week. And although we've seen the show multiple times, my wife and I found ourselves once again chuckling our way through the jokes.     During one skit, Jeff Foxworthy speaks of the mailbox in front of his boyhood home. Supposedly someone had painted the word "male" on it. He jokes that somewhere around his 11th year of school, it dawns on him that "that just ain't right"! (Punchline: Why ain't it right? The "m" is supposed to be capitalized!)     … (50 comments)

mortgage services: Celebrating 100,000 Points In the Rain! A Shower of Fun! - 06/29/10 07:00 AM

Today I am celebrating a milestone.  I have earned over 100,000 points here on ActiveRain writing as a representative of my business and services through Chicago Bancorp ... and promoter of my industry and geographical area!
When I first started out here on the Rain, I thought those members with this number of points must be superhuman.  I just couldn't imagine having that much to offer or say ... or posting and being rewarded with those types of numbers.
The possibility of other Rainmakers writing me back and being able to establish and grow the remarkable … (25 comments)

I know many people are already into the thick of their Holiday shopping or making plans for gift giving and party hosting.  Especially in this day and age, planning for the expenditures of the holiday season is extremely important.
It's also true that in the present challenging financial climate "execution" of your holiday plans can be even more important.  It's easy to fall into the lure and "trap" of holiday spending!
Figuring a budget for holiday spending and sticking to it isn't always easy, but maintaining a level head regarding expenditures protects your finances and credit ratings down the road.  … (4 comments)

mortgage services: Holiday Newsletters! The gift that keeps on giving ... - 11/19/09 08:25 AM
This last week or two I've been planning and writing my upcoming Holiday Newsletter.  My wife and I work together on this effort and have   a great time while doing so.
I mail an actual print newsletter about every other month to all those within my database.  Attorneys, accountants, mortgage customers, realtors, friends, relatives, and more are all recipients.  Typically the articles featured within this marketing piece are of an informative nature or offer up assistance on mortgage lending, home buying/selling, financial, or home care needs.
The intent of the Holiday Newsletter is quite different though from those that … (8 comments)
