real estate professionals: Let's Get Pinned! - 10/31/14 06:59 AM
Let's Get Pinned!
No ... not that way!  On Pinterest!
I've been a big fan of Pinterest now for quite a while.  As time and my participation on Pinterest has grown, I've seen very positive results for my business.  Both from a client basis ... and that of meeting and working with new Referral Partners.
Pinterest has definitely contributed to increased visibility online.  But besides the business benefit to Pinterest ... I've just come to enjoy the site.
Typically my wife (my marketing assistant) and I "pin" together.  I think doing Pinterest as a team … (22 comments)

real estate professionals: Loan Modifications ... Refinance. Present Options That Can Exist ... - 12/13/11 07:05 AM
Loan Modifications ... Refinance Present Options That Can Exist              It seems lately, that I've had more and more questions from homeowners about  "Loan Modification", as they continue to struggle within today's challenging market and economy.         Agents and many of my other referral partners also want to know about them, and other financing options that might exist, too.  THEY are getting quizzed by homeowners (and potential buyers) regarding Loan Modifications too ... especially now after the governments release of information regarding the upcoming HARP 2.0.  It seems, you can't be doing business within the current market and … (11 comments)

real estate professionals: Searching for Your New Home Alone? Really? Think That Over ... Pt. 2 - 05/13/11 04:07 AM
Searching for Your New Home Alone?   Really? Think That Over ...  Pt. 2               Are you presently contemplating ... or actively searching for a new home to buy?  If so, you're not alone ...        Are you thinking of "going it alone" ... without the aid and assistance offered by a real estate agent?          In  Part 1 of this blog,  I addressed some of the reasons new homebuyers might think about tackling this venture on their own.  Pursuing a home purchase alone is something a potential homebuyer might want to think long and hard about, especially if that decision … (3 comments)

real estate professionals: Searching For Your New Home Alone? Really? Think it Over ... Pt. 1 - 05/11/11 01:08 PM
Searching For Your New Home Alone?  Really?  Think it Over ... Pt. 1                     Are you presently contemplating ... or actively seeking ... a new home to buy?  If so, you are not alone ...        An article offered on May 5th, 2011 on (written by Annamaria Andriotis) states that the above is indeed true.  More Americans ARE presently out looking for homes to purchase. YOU are not alone in your housing search.             But the article goes on to state that you may also be a portion of another growing statistic ... homebuyers actively searching for their new home … (2 comments)

real estate professionals: When the Identity Thief is Mom or Dad ... What Do You Do? - 04/25/11 02:50 PM
I've seen the topic written about often.  Real estate agents and mortgage lenders expressing that they are called upon to perform duties outside and beyond those typically associated with their professions.
Real estate agents helping clients out in emergencies.  Walking dogs.  House sitting for repair appointments.  Mortgage Lenders performing counseling of all types.  Helping with financial planning, budgeting, and cleaning credit mishaps.  Both real estate agents and mortgage lender hand-holding and providing a sympathetic ear on family issues, jobs, money, repairs, more.
Most real estate agents and mortgage lenders don't even blink when faced with performing these tasks. For … (12 comments)

real estate professionals: Meet and Get to Know Some of Chicagoland and Illinois' Best Real Estate Professionals - 03/30/11 04:32 AM
Call it the "ex-Chamber of Commerce President syndrome", but I like to get to know, comment, and promote the real estate professionals that are right here in my own backyard in Chicagoland and Illinois.  The lessons honed during my three stints as Mokena (IL) Chamber of Commerce President live on ...
And just as current Chambers and their Presidents remind their residents to conduct business locally and keep tax dollars local ... it's my ActiveRain/business policy to do much the same.
Now don't get me wrong.  I've got great ActiveRain contacts all over the States and Canada.  And when referral opportunities pop-up … (10 comments)

real estate professionals: Staying in Shape and Eating Your Wheaties. Getting Ready For Current Day Real Estate Transaction Marathons. - 11/19/10 05:52 AM
Getting a deal closed in today's real estate world has become a long distance marathon ...
What used to take about 3 weeks to accomplish ... can now take up to 2, 3, 4 months, or even longer.    And no .. I'm not dissing banks, Wall Street, underwriting,  underwriters, or anyone else specifically here.
There are alot of fingers in this messed-up pie!
Transactions just take longer to close.  A pretty obvious FACT ...
Real estate has always been known by the often-heard phrase, "Location .. Location .. Location"!
Currently, I believe it should be known by … (9 comments)

real estate professionals: Not ANY Attorney Will Do. Protect Yourself. Do Yourself a Favor. Retain a REAL ESTATE Attorney for Your Real Estate Transactions. - 11/10/10 11:27 AM
I've been working on a file for a customer buying a condominium that has proven to be particularly challenging on many levels. I won't bore you with details, but suffice it to say, everything but the kitchen sink has somehow found its' way thrown into the approval process.
Aaaahhh yes ... the wonders and thrills of modern-day real estate ...
Even by today's standards ... this purchase has been what I'd politely call a "doozey".  It could definitely serve as a textbook for many finer points of lending and buying a home.  But even with … (14 comments)

real estate professionals: Staging and decorating are not the same thing! - 09/18/10 01:10 PM
I found this post by Liz Lockhart, GRI, CENTURY 21 Key Realty,  in Cape Girardeau, MO, delivered a very compelling argument for utilizing the services of a professional Stager when contemplating a sale of your home.
The examples provided within the post clearly outline the pathway to success versus failure.  Home owners decorate their homes to their tastes while they are living within a home.  To SELL a home, they need to rely on the expertise and talents of a professional Stager.
Sellers are relying on real estate professionals throughout their entire transaction.  To not rely on a professional Stager as well … (5 comments)
