bailout: Congress - Going Broke Selling Liquor & Women. - 12/20/08 07:12 AM
There used to be a place in Nevada you might have heard of. It was called the Mustang Ranch and it was a legal brothel - had been in business for years, had people lining up to visit. Well, in 1990 the government seized the Mustang Ranch for tax evasion and, as required by law, they tried to run it. They failed and it closed. Today we're trusting our economy, our country and $2+ Trillion Dollars of bail-out cash to this pack of nit-wits who couldn't make money running a whore house and selling booze. Well, that's just my $.02 worth. … (29 comments)

bailout: NAR Four Point Stimulus Plan - A Call To Action! - 11/13/08 12:04 PM
11-13 call to action On Monday I wrote a post from NAR regarding their Four Point Housing Stimulus program. Today that program came out to us in the form of a Call to Action from the Realtor Action Center. Coincidentally, it was announced on the same day that Sec. Paulsen decided our $700 Billion bail-out package was going to the wrong people by being earmarked for people in trouble on their mortgages and that the money should instead go to buy interest in banks, help banks buy other banks and maybe bail-out GM and/or the auto industry in general so people … (4 comments)

bailout: The Trillion-Dollar Bank Shakedown That Bodes Ill For Cities - Obama & Acorn - 09/29/08 09:07 AM
As you read that headline you might be tempted to believe the article is about the current financial crisis, right up to the trillion dollar pricetag. What is surprising is that the article appeared in The City Journal in their Winter 2000 issue! I have excerpted a few lines from this very long and very informative read which raises many of the issues we are facing today. Critics of this program gave voice to the same concerns we have today but they only thought the results would have a negative impact on some cities - they never in their wildest dreams … (2 comments)

bailout: Republican Congressman Opposed Current Bail-Out Proposal - 09/29/08 06:48 AM
9/29 issa newsletter California readers have long been aware of the high esteem I hold one of my Congressional Representatives, Darrell Issa (not). In my humble opinion, Issa is one of the emptier suits clogging the halls of Congress. He has rarely, if ever, come down on the right side as far as Realtor issues, banks in real estate, private property rights, etc. However, even a blind pig finds an acorn once in awhile. In his current newsletter, Issa makes some valid points on the current bail-out proposal and, giving the devil his due, I pass them along for your review … (7 comments)

bailout: Dr. Greenspanstein's Monster & Gambler Mae - 01/17/08 03:47 PM
Well, here's hoping you're safely through the holidays, and that Santa, in his munificence, deposited more than the richly deserved lumps of coal in your moth eaten stockings. With that cheery greeting,  let's start the year with a slap in the yap from the housing market. I know I told you about the light at the end of the tunnel last month but we're not out of the tunnel yet - so keep slogging.
I keep getting asked about the various ‘bail-out' packages being proposed by every sop from Sacramento to DC. So I'll just ask you - do you think … (15 comments)
