10-23 negative news The Project for Excellence in Journalism, a Washington D.C. based think-tank with no political affiliation, has issued a report comparing the news coverage of Sen. John McCain and Sen. Barack Obama. The findings of the report are simple: while candidate coverage since their conventions has been pretty equal in quantity, there has been a noticeable difference in quality. Coverage of John McCain during the campaign "has been overwhelmingly negative since the conventions ended."

In case you all were wondering about the new Republican VP's credentials for the job, they are slim but strong. We'll have to see how this plays out on a national stage. Kudo's to McCain for a maverick pick who seems to be pretty strongly conservative, not afraid to rile the old guard and has a strong sense of ethics - that alone should stand strong against the Democrats.
