murrieta homes: Kids Eat FREE - Every Night of the Week.
- 03/10/09 12:25 PM
Everybody enjoys an evening out, a nice dinner with the family after a hard days work, a break from the routing. But the economy has given everybody a little case of the shorts and it's not that easy to justify a pricey meal out if it means dining out or paying the rent. So here's a handy little guide to Realtors and friends that will let you feed your kids for FREE every night of the week. It takes a little planning but it's worth it. Heck I made it through 2 years of college by knowing where the best

murrieta homes: Congressman Ken Calvert - Working the Realtors Corner Again.
- 03/10/09 12:03 PM
I'm not sure how I missed the big announcement from NAR about these two bills. Let's see - every time they want me to support some hunk-of-pork stimulus bill or additional spending bill, I always get the email encouraging me to contact my legislator to get it passed. But here are two bills by Assembly member Ken Calvert, the long-time sponsor of the Banks Out of Real Estate Bill, and I hear nada? H.R. 1245 brings the $15,000 buyers tax credit back to the table. You might recall this was on the table at one point of the stimulus debate only

murrieta homes: What Can We Buy In Murrieta CA for $250,000?
- 02/23/09 05:13 PM
What can we get for $250,000? That seems to be a question I get a lot lately. There was a time about 12 - 15 years ago when you could buy a lot of house in Murrieta or Temecula for $250,000. Average price / SqFt was hovering around $100 so you could get a real nice 2,000 SqFt place or a pretty nice 2,500 - 2,700 SqFt place. Of course that was in the days before everybody had to have granite counters or stainless steel appliances, but you usually got a pretty good size yard to go along with that. Then

murrieta homes: Murrieta 'State of the Community' - It's All Good.
- 12/02/08 06:31 AM
This morning I attended a 'Murrieta State of the Community' address by Mayor Rick Gibbs. Today is Mayor Gibbs last day on the job as he will hand over the gavel to Gary Thomasian at tonights City Council Meeting. Rick has done an outstanding job for us this year, bringing a high level of decorum to the office, a professional reserve and a business-like attitude. His tenure helped heal many of the remaining rifts our city suffered as the result of our council recall from a few years ago. Rick served as my Vice-Chair a few years back when we worked

murrieta homes: Temecula, Murrieta 1st Half Sales Figures are in - Good News?
- 07/21/08 03:17 PM
6-18 05 comps Temecula, Murrieta & Lake Elsinore Home Market What does this mean to YOU? 3 straight months of increasing sales = 1 quarter of improvement. One quarter doesn't make a trend by any means, but it's definitely a relief and an improvement from the past 24 months of free falling sales numbers. Now if we can just string together another quarter or two, we won't be out of the woods yet but we'll be headed in the right direction to get out at least. That's the good news. Obviously prices are still dropping but that will continue until our

murrieta homes: Southwest California Homes Sales - 5/08. Gettin' Better All The Time
- 06/19/08 01:35 PM
6-18 05 comps Temecula, Murrieta & Lake Elsinore Home Buyers LOOK AT THOSE NUMBERS! I’m not trying to tell you the slump is over – we're going to keep piling on bank repo's for another 12 to 18 months. But the numbers speak for themselves and this is the 2nd month in a row where the number of homes sold has exceeded last year. Murrieta's sales volume was over 4 times what it was in May 2007 and Temecula nearly doubled. Lake Elsinore had a little dip last month but overall the numbers are very positive and close to 2006 levels.

5-10 mvhs scholarship A couple weeks ago I wrote about Paying it Forward with our Association Scholarship Foundation. Last night it was my privilege to be able to present 3 more scholarhips to the Nighthawks at Murrieta Valley High School, the high school my children graudated from. I don't know how many were in the graduating class this year but over 250 of them received scholarhips last night from 180 different donors. These were the non-academic scholarhips presented by individuals, trusts and civic groups. These were some outstanding young men and women, the kind that are rarely featured in the media because

6-9 NAR board of choice Whew - it's been a busy few weeks. First back to DC for NAR's mid-year Legislative Meetings then up to Sacramento last week for our California Association Legislative Days. Both series were chock full of great content, long days and too much good food. I'm back for awhile now but the meetings have left me with a few questions. I'll be posting an issue here from time to time to see how the rest of you feel starting with this one - It was a hot topic of discussion in our region and state leading up to
