Hillsborough Township is a township in Somerset County, New Jersey, United States. Originally created in 1771, Hillsborough was incorporated as one of New Jersey's original 104 townships in 1798. Hillsborough is a collection of small villages, each of which has left its own imprint on the Township's history. It includes the unincorporated communities of Belle Mead, Blackwells Mills, Flagton, South Branch and Neshanic. The Hillsborough Township School District serves students in grades K - 12th.
