Dosher Hospital Volunteers Luncheon
This past Monday, Dosher Hospital celebrated the Volunteers with a delicious Luncheon, held at the St. James Community Building in St. James.
It was a very rainy day on the outside but all was cheery and warm with lots of good things happening on the inside of the building.
They rewarded us with pins and certificates stating our hours worked and special things that we have done for the Hospital.
Our Volunteers work in the ER, Reception, Records, Rehab, Gift Shoppe and the FleeMarket.
WE have raised over $1,000,000 over the years, to buy needed items for the hospital … (0 comments)

I had not been introduced to the FORD system of prospecting until today. Have you heard of it?
F Stands for Family
O Stands for Occupation
R Stands for Recreation
D Stands for Dreams
It is a system for prospecting people that you know. It begins with you telling them "who you are and then is followed by The F.O.R.D. questions.
Think I am going to try it.

Do you have a secret weapon in your arsenal?
As we all know, FSBO's are folks that are wanting to sell...
I have used some points in the past to see what I could offer them to entice them to
work with me. Some agents have been very successful in bringing FSBO's on board. If you have been successful and would agree to share some of those tips with a hardworking agent, I would appreciate it very much

One of the biggest things that we are faced with still in our area, is the dreams of what was going on in 2004 and 2005. That day is gone.
What we have to do as a Realtor and as a professional is to educate our buyers as to TODAY'S Market. We all sold properties in 2005 that we are having to sell for half of what they sold during the HayDAys!
When I have a seller to call me and say that they bought in 2005 and HAVE to SELL right a way..I just cringe.
Who knew? This is a nationwide happening, not a local problem/

I have been fortunate enough to work face to face with sellers today. I had listed one of their lots and they were going to take it off the market. I did some research for them and suggested that they leave that lot on the market...because it can't sell if no one knows it is for sale..
They then asked to see if I would list one of their other lots. They are excited to sell and we priced it at the lowest price in the community.
There is stuff happening...

WE have been dealing with this for a couple of years now...(thinking of 2005).
WE had folks buying up lots on Oak Island for $220,000 and now their worth is only about $45,000. I am finding it difficult to tell a buyer that they can only get $45,000 for a lot that they paid $220,000.
I think that it is almost better for them to give it back to the bank...but that is one of the reasons that we are in the position that we are in now..
Any advice?

No Agent Open Houses!!!
I wanted to run this by you all to see how you feel about it.
An agent in our area, is having Open Houses and this is how it works.
He will have 4 houses Open and the requirement is that you go into the houses with your lock box and leave your card on the counter.
This Open house will go on for 4 hours.....say from 10 to 2. After that time, he will draw 4 cards from the agents that went to preview the house and give away $100, $50, and 4 $25 gift cards.

These are beautiful, Yellow lilies that we bought from a young child selling them at church about 15 years ago.
Each year they bloom and grow...and we think of Lexi.

I have been trying so hard for the past 3 months to get some answers regarding leads and how to get them.
It is hard to know where to spend your money and do the right thing.
Home.com is one of the places that I am trying to get set up with to receive leads on my listings.
I am also trying to do this with:
Realtor.com
Listhub.com
trulia.com
zillow.com
coldwellbanker.com
to name a few.
Would love it if you could offer any suggestions.

Our Company, Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Realty~held an Open House Extravaganza weekend and many of us participated. I held 3 Open Houses with the help of my sellers and 2 other agents in the office.. They are excited to do anything that they can do in order to get the exposure for their houses too.
We were somewhat successful, with some folks looking around after the Easter Holidays. Springtime brings buyer to the area wanting a vacation home before Summer arrives..

Happy Easter,
Lots of folks are flocking to our local beaches to enjoy the warm, spring, sun and to enjoy the beautiful flowers that are surrounding us everywhere. If this is an indicator of the season, we have plenty of folks here. Now we will need to see if any of them are interested in real estate next week. We are prepared with numerous homes and lots for the picking.

Easter is the most blessed time of the year. It is a time for remembrances of the past. I think back over the Easters that I have experienced for the past 60 years. It always began with a trip to the front yard to find the most beautiful azalea to pin on my new Easter dress that my mother made for me the week before. (usually hemming it on Saturday Eve) Then off to Church to sit with my family and enjoy the story of the Resurrection and to sing those favorite hymns of Up From the Grave He Arose … (1 comments)

Cool and a gray day is not how I enjoy starting my morning..
It is a gray day today but I feel Sunny. We are doing a BOOST Class and had a good group of
Agents there to share information with us. It is good to know that we are still learning and that
will make us more productive in the future.

What sites are best for us to invest our time and money it?
Thinking of PoP goes the Wessel.....
Today I have been working on social networks and getting more confused. We started out with Twitter, then facebook, then My Space, and then ended with Ping.
If we just worked on each one of these sites it would take hours to update each of these sites. I find it difficult to even to Craigs List. Do you get results with it?
