ginger harper realtor: Tire Kickers and Tooth Pickers
- 02/09/16 11:07 AM
These are terms that I have heard since Real Estate 101. Are these the terms that you are familiar with. The Tire Kickers and Tooth Pickers are those possible FUTURE buyers that want to use YOUR precious time right then. The are NOT qualified and do not have the means to purchase right now but are thinking about it... Over the 32 years of experience, I do not put tooth pickers or Tire Kickers in my car. I have a potential BUYER qualified by one of our local lenders. Then, I show them houses in their price range. AS we all know...TIME IS MONEY

ginger harper realtor: Remember When?
- 01/13/16 01:20 AM
As a young person, our family would watch TV on Saturday and Sunday evenings....Mama would pop popcorn and we would sit around and watch the Ed Sullivan Show. We would see the new performers enter into the entertainment arena. I remember seeing Stevie Wonder doing the finger poppin thing and also the Jackson 5. Elvis with his gyrating hips..and of course the BEATLES! Shirley Temple was my favorite. I would watch "The Good Ship Lolipop" and dance along with her. Then there was that "Masked Man on the White horse"....and then the Ape Man that swung from the vines... We would play outside till

ginger harper realtor: What Do YOU Remember about 9-11-?
- 09/11/15 05:59 AM
For me, it began as a normal work week. I skipped the Office Meeting and went on the the Southport Office. When I arrived, Vicki our secretary was in tears and said to me "Look at the TV"...As I looked, the 2nd plane flew into the North Tower at the World Trade Center. I was Stunned into complete silence and totally immobile. When I gained a bit of composure, I went to the bank and drew out $2000 in cash and hid it in my car. I did not know what was going to happen next and thought that it may not be over. Then

ginger harper realtor: If you Price it right, It will sell in 2015
- 09/10/15 11:31 AM
One of the biggest things that we are faced with still in our area, is the dreams of what was going on in 2004 and 2005. That day is gone. What we have to do as a Realtor and as a professional is to educate our buyers as to TODAY'S Market. We all sold properties in 2005 that we are having to sell for half of what they sold during the Haydays! When I have a seller to call me and say that they bought in 2005 and HAVE to SELL right a way..I just cringe. Who knew? This is a nationwide happening, not a local problem, We

Concert Just for One The RN and all involved will have a special star in their crown! The Mormon Tabernacle Choir was on tour in Memphis, Tennessee. At St. Jude's Hospital there was a little girl who had been admitted with an aggressive form of brain cancer. Her chemo treatments prohibited her from being in crowds and so, with great disappointment, she learned she could not attend the Mormon Choir's final Memphis concert. But, a hospital nurse sent a request that perhaps a few of the choir members could meet the young girl at the hotel she and her family were staying.

ginger harper realtor: Quartz Composite...Yes
- 09/04/15 10:53 AM
I am in the middle of remodeling the kitchen and I am getting rather confused. I think that I want to get the Quartz composite since it is solid and will not stain or scratch. I have learned right much regarding these counter tops but still need to have some opinions from my trusted ActiveRainers. If you have either or know of any details that help me in making a decision, please share those thoughts with me. Thanks you so much in Advance.. Ginger of Southport

ginger harper realtor: Do You Have an ALARM File in Place?
- 08/29/15 12:23 AM
I just read a blog about meeting "a prospect" at a vacant property. WE do NOT do that in our office. We "C I T O" them (Come into the office) before we go out to show them property. There have been many bad things to happen to agents in North Carolina and I am sure that it is the same across the country. We had a robbery go wrong last year and an agent was killed. That has put us all on edge. WE have a plan in place, that if we feel uncomfortble when out showing...WE call the office and ask for

ginger harper realtor: Grape Jelly tonight...
- 08/27/15 11:20 AM
This is what we start with. Handpicked grapes from the yard. I boiled them down till we could squeeze them. We had about 11 cups of juice. Recipe calls fore 5 cups of juice and 7 cups of sugar and a pat of butter. cook after it boils for 2 minutes. Pour in sterilized jars and seal ... Then wait for the pop.. This is what it looks like before we squeeze the grapes.. This is the end product. WE finally ended up with 10 jars of wonderful jars of Muscadine Jelly for friends and family. So tickled to be thru. This will be a wonderful addition to

ginger harper realtor: Staying Ahead of the Crowd With Marketing
- 08/26/15 06:01 AM
Thanks Debbie... I am so glad that you did a contest for us to work with. I always enjoy the challenge. The three things that I have picked to grow my business: 1. EDDM - Every Door Direct Mail. This is a good way to send and blanket an area with you Media. I do this when I am in search of a listing in a certain location. It is with the United post office and is fairly inexpensive. EDDM.com 2. I plan to hold more open houses. I think that I want to try a new approach to the Open Houses and that is to

ginger harper realtor: Condo Coverage: HOA Coverage vs Owner Coverage.
- 08/24/15 11:03 AM
If you are a condo owner. You need to understand what the dues do cover. YOu will definately need to have liability insurance to cover your assets.. Purchasing a condo comes with many benefits - and possibly additional benefits that are covered under the home owners association. But often HOA coverage is different from owner insurance coverage. Here are few of the differences: The Insurance Information Institute offers these guidelines for things typically covered by an HOA vs Owners Insurance: HOA Coverage may include: Liability protection that may help cover legal or medical costs if the association is hit with a lawsuit

ginger harper realtor: Class of 1966~ Tar Heel High School..Reunion coming up..
- 08/22/15 11:43 AM
Fun time had by all 49 years ago.... It is truly hard to believe that I can be that old. The main topic of conversation was "How is Your Health", "I had a hip replaced", "I had 3 stents put in"..(You get the picture) There were 31 Class mates when I graduated from Tar Heel High School in 1966. Small graduating class but some really good folks in it. Around 12 class mates came to the pig pickin' and we were served a Crab Boil and fresh BBQ, Cole Slaw, Baked beans, and peach cobbler. So good.... Do you get together with your class mates often? Time is just

ginger harper realtor: From the Peach tree to the Preserves...
- 08/21/15 11:25 AM
Fresh PEACHES......into Peach Preverves! And then the canning of the peaches in to preserves...Yummmm.. This is who we are. We love to pick and can the wonderful vegetables and fruits that we grow or is provided to us. Our Son in Law brought us a box of beautiful, lucious, ripe peaches yesterday. We have eaten all that we can and know that the next step is to save them. That means canning them into preserves. The preserves we cook with out a recipe. We do this by smell and the consistancy of the syrup. When we feel that they are thick enough, we put them up in

ginger harper realtor: Do you have a Rule of Thumb? I do!
- 08/15/15 11:24 AM
I have just sent an email out to my listing because we have the Fall Tab that will be printed in the next 3 weeks. This Tab has a shelf life of about 3 months and will be in the resturants, grocery stores, novely stores etc. So we get right much Bang for our Bucks on this one. I have learned through past experience, these 2 truths. 1. If you have a property listed for sale and you have showings but NO offers, the your property is 5% over priced! 2. If you have a property listed for sale and you have NO showings, then your

ginger harper realtor: Pay it Forward in August..
- 08/12/15 11:29 AM
This is such a great idea and everyone can do this. YOu get this great feeling in your heart when you do something for someone else and it is not expected. It can be as simple as letting a car get in line that is stuck on a side road; smiling a someone with a frown on their face; letting someone get in line in front of you when they have only one or two items and you have a basketful. I sit in the evenings and make afgans for the folks in our local Nursing Center, I make up to 50 a year.
