Yesterday after dinner; that consisted of Roast Beef and gravy, Rice, corn, Butterbeans, garden peas, fresh corn, rolls and butter, friendship cake and sweet ice tea. After Dinner, the two boys, Jonah and Joshua, went out to do build waterworks. First the dug a ditch in the drive way and devised a way to make the water run from top to bottom of the driveway. Messy but fun for them. I love it when they are so creative, ( We will fill in the ditch later) Great day to say the least. Ginger of Southport

Today is a blessed day... The first thing that happened was that our oldest Daughter invited us to come to here house to have Waffles, Bacon and Eggs for Breakfast. She called at 8:00 to say that they had not water. Something was wrong with the water pump. So I invited her to come here and do the3 breakfast and that would be fine.
After that, around 3:00...all of the children are coming here and I have prepared a Turkey, Sausage Balls, French onion dip, taco sauce, chips, cheese ball, fudge, peanut brittle, broccoli and dip, celery and cream cheese, pimento … (3 comments)

Well...Today is the 2ost of December and I think I may go shopping for the first time tomorrow. My Motto has always been. Why do today what you can do tomorrow... Therefore, I think that I go to town and shop for the 40 folks that I want to share gifts with.
Any advice...What does one buy for the Husband that has everything...and if he doesn't...gets it when he wants it....Or our 16 year old Grandson that is 6'6" and 325 pounds? And the Granddaugher that is a Sophmore at the College of Charleston in South Carolina..A 10 year old that is too … (7 comments)

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Everywhere you go right now...Christmas is in the air. You hear folks singing...Christmas Plays at Church. Trees being decorated....cookies and Canady being made...Christmas Parties everywhere.
Then we think about the special people that you want to remember with a gift or a card. I love writing the Christmas Cards and sending special notes about the family and friends.
Our Month is filled up with events.

Today, we are going to the woods that we have with the Grandchildren, to find the perfect tree and bring it home.
WE will then put the tree in the tree stand, build a fire (It is 42 degrees here right now), put on the Christmas music, pull out the decorations that we have had for 40 years, and let the Children decorate. Jimmy puts the Angel on top, Gina does the lights and the little ones put on the balls, bells, other angels, Santa clauses etc. Then I put the gifts that I have wrapped under the tree.

Cancer...Can we find a way to get rid of it? WE need more research to find cures for this dreaded disease.
In loving memory of every cancer patient, family, and friends who have lost the battle of cancer and the ones who continue to conquer it! Put this on your page if you know someone who has or had cancer. WE lost our daughter Meg in July of this year. Our pain is still very hard.
We all should pray for a cure.

Forget midnight.
Instead, they should celebrate 01:01:01 on 01/01/01, one hour, one minute, and one second into the first day of the first month of the first year of the 22nd century (2101).
Let me go a step further than 01/01/01 (2101): There will also be 02/02/02 (2102), 03/3/03 (2103), all the way through 12/12/12 (2112)!

Sea Notes Choral Group will be having their concert on December 6,7 and 9 at Hatch Auditorium on Caswell Beach, North Carolina. It is such a great time with wonderful Christmas music being sung by an excellent choir. The Sea Notes Choral Group has about 150 dedicated singer that preform 3 time a year. Spring, 4th of July and Christmas are the times of the year.

It was such a fun day..
After Thanksgiving...it is now a tradition to bake Christmas Cookies for the Family to have and to Share with one another.
We had five of our Grandchildren and 2 cousins to join us in the baking.
The recipe for the dough is so simple...
1 stick of butter
2 cups of sugar
2 cups of flour
2 eggs
tsp of vanilla.
Mix like you were working with biscuits - with hands
Roll out with rolling pin on floured surface...(as you can see, I am using a very old Tupperware rolling sheet)

Today is the last day that we will have company. Our first arrivals were last Tuesday. Next on Wednesday and then on Thursday we had 25, most went back home and then on friday more arrivals..
To say the very least, we have had a great time. But....
Fixing all of the meals and doing the washing and Ironing has taken a toll on me to day. All I want to do is sleep.
It will be the same next year and I love it...but I feel like slowing down a bit.

WE have had another memory making day today.
After Church, we had 15 of the family to come to dinner for Nice Roast Beef, Rice and Gravy, Butterbeans, Corn, Garden Peas, Rolls, Sweet Tea and then a variety of Pies and Cakes from Thanksgiving.
Three of the family left to go back to their homes. I miss then already.
Guess it is time for me to get started with the Washing and Cleaning that has to take place after the 25 folks that we had her for Thanksgiving Dinner.
