I am still trying to understand all of the aspects of ActiveRAin. I like getting in touch with folks that are online. I think that I can learn from other. I think that I can share with others. This is going to be a new learning experience. I hope that I have as much to share and I learn from other. It is hard to teach an "Old Dog" "New Tricks"..
Any advice will be greatly apprectiated!

ginger harper: Grape Stomping Time

Well...This is the time of the year that the Grape Stomping takes place on Beaver Dam Creek in Southport, North Carolina.
For the past 4 days, we have been picking muscadin grapes, I have been stomping them (with very clean feet)..We are finding that is the easiest way to crush them. Then the processing begins.
Stomped Grapes, Sugar, Sure jell...
Ending up with the best tasting jelly ever...
Fresh bread, real butter and fresh stomped grape jelly....Ah..the life...

Great Day today with the Children and Grandchildren.
After Church, we had a Sunday Dinner that consisted of
Roast Beef and gravy, fresh Whipped Pototoes, corn, Butterbeans, garden peas, rolls, fresh turnips and onions, fresh baked blue berry cobbler and sweet ice tea.
Then out into the yard to watch the childern climb trees and stack wood for this winter.
Great day to say the least.

Believe it or not. I have had a very busy spring and summer. There is so much more activity in the Southport~Oak Island area of Brunswick County North Carolina. We had such a disasterous year in 2009 and 2010..that it could not get any worse.
I do hope that you are having the same results now also. It is harder but at least if you keep working it will come..

Subject: How to Read Bar Codes on Food . . . This is very interesting & good to know as a safeguard. ALWAYS READ THE LABELS ON THE FOODS YOU BUY--NO MATTER WHAT THE FRONT OF THE BOX OR PACKAGE SAYS, TURN IT OVER AND READ THE BACK---CAREFULLY! With all the food and pet products now coming from China , it is best to make sure you read labels at the grocery store and especially Walmart when buying food products. Have you ever heard of a condo association foreclosing on a condo and then buying it with dues of the owners?
We are having something like that going on here and I do not know who to go to for help. I can't help but think that this is wrong. Have rules changed....if they have, I feel that human decency has eluded us.
I have great concern for the folks that lost their unit even though they were trying to work out a payment schedule with the association.

I sing with the Choral Society of the Sea Notes. (Living here, near the beach)
Our concert was at Hatch Auditorium in Caswell Beach NC and we had a full house.
Songs were from t he 60, 70, and 80's. The audience was singing every song with us.
It was such a fantastic night. Anyone born in the 30, 40, and 50's would have love it.

I don't know about you all, but I am having a harder time pleasing the BPO folks. I am giving them factual information based on our local MLS and the figures tell the truth. They are wanting us to go back and get closer comparable properties When nothing has sold in that area you must go outside that community to find comparable to do the analysis.
I am also finding, after I have done the work...they order has been canceled.
Then, we have spent our time and energy to do the work and will not be compensated … (3 comments)

I actually tried this before I chose to pass it on. You may want to do the same thing. It worked for me instantly. I called and asked for Kerr Drug, Concord, NC ... immediately, I heard Kerr Drug on Church Street ( I smiled ) and then instantly Bob, the Pharmacist said, Kerr Drug Pharmacy. . . .this will save us money because it states that it is nationwide and absolutely FREE. Leave it up to Google~

I have a friend that has done some Website work for another Realtor. The reworked the site and added information on other communities. Did the writing and doctored the pictures.
She spend right much time on this and after it was completed, submitted a bill for the work that was done.
The Realtor, looked it over and said it was good. That he liked it. My friend submitted a bill for $75. for her work, which is totally reasonable.
The other agent, changed his password to get into the website and them offered her $30 for her work. She said no, … (6 comments)

We went to an open house at Grayson Park. The developers were there and were very excited about their product. It is in the coast area of North Carolina and close to Wilmington NC and Southport NC.
They have a very good product with a very affordable price point in the 150K range. They offer three bedrooms and two baths.
The community has pools and tennis court along with a playground for children.
Too good to be true...but it is.

Some of our "100 Days to Greatness" folks went to the Richmond, Virginina, Turning Point classes with Brian Buffini.
They came back so pumped up and ready to do business and I will plan to go to the next course that they have close to me.
I know that the system works because, last week, I had 3 listings and 1 sale...using the Buffini System.

I have not used that term in a long time but it seems prevelant today also.
