BIOGRAPHY FOR MARGARET TAYLOR HARPER

CHURCH MUSIC
Started playing the piano for Sunday School and Prayer Meeting about 1931 when she was 13 or 14. Started playing for church about 1937 and became regular organist about 1947 until 1993.
SUNDAY SCHOOL, CHURCHTaught Sunday School classes from 1937 to 1981- first teens, then adults. Served in various capacities up to 1978 when she became chairman of Administrative Board from 1978-1982.
WOMAN'S WORKServed at various times as circle leader, was President of the Woman's Society of Christian Service in the early '50's.

Going home today to see my husband and daughter and grandchildren. I have missed them so. I have been in Durham with my 92 year old Mother in law while she has been in the hospital for the past two weeks. She is getting somewhat better and I feel that I can take a break. It is a gray day in Durham but I feel Sunny inside. My Mother in Law is getting somewhat better from a stroke that she had on Tuesday. I have never been around a stroke victum before and am learning much about do's and don'ts. Have you had to deal with this in your life? It appears that the stroke has affected her speech and comprehension. We are learning what we need to do to help her come back as far as she can come. Take care, Ginger of Southport … (2 comments)

Wow...
43 years ago....
It is truly hard to believe that I can be that old....But ..guess I am anyway.
I graduated from Tar Heel High School in 1966 with 31 classmates. Small graduating class but some really good folks in it.
At the reunion, we had 17 folks with spouses to attend. It was such a great evening. WE were served fresh BBQ, Cole Slaw, Baked beans, and peach cobbler. So good....
Wish that you all have good times like this with your class mates..

It is hard to believe what happened to "Us" a Nation 8 years ago today. The tragedy of it all. Innocent folks killed as they were. We can not forget what happened and need to insure that it can never happen again..
Every generation has given up something to keep our Nation free... I ask myself, even now, what can I do to make this a stronger Country...

I need help in finding homes for 4 beautiful gray kittens that were born Aug 14, 2009.. Homes needed in 4 more weeks..
This small black and white kitty showed up here about a month ago. She looked very health...almost fat...
Well 3 weeks later, she was skinny...
She had 6 kittens and lost 2...so 4 darlins' need to have homes and folks that love them.

My husband fixed a wonderful shrimp Dinner for me with the help of one of our daughters.
We had Boiled Shrimp, Crab Dip, Salad with dressings, hushpuppies, crackers for the dip..and of course
Chocolate Cake that my Husband baked by his own two little hands..He is the best.
After we ate and opened gifts, I said "I only need my 2 grandchildren from Greensboro to be with me and I would be so happy..about 10 minutes later..they walked in.. Wow...I was blown away. Had the biggest majority of my family with me..
It was a great day.

F Stands for Family

D Stands for Dreams
It is a system for prospecting people that you know. It begins with you telling them "who you are and then is followed by The F.O.R.D. questions.

This is a normal thing for us. We love the weather channel and keeping up with what is going on with the weather that is going to affect us.
Right now there are 3 hurricanes that are brewing the our neck of the world. We need rain...but not hurricane rain.
Hopefully these will pass us by.

Thank God for the Rain...
WE needed it so much. It has rained for two days now and we are blessed to have it. The gardens were drying up and the crops were going away. I think that this rain saved much of our garden and we are very Thankful. Now we can can the veggies needed for the Winter.

ginger of southport: Previewing homes after sales meetings.

Our company has started previewing houses that the agents in our company have listed over the past week. WE see anywhere from 5 to 10 houses after the sales meeting and usually end up having lunch at the last house.
This has been an great way to get agents into the houses so that they will have the knowledge to talk intelligently about it when the phone call comes.

Wow....
After needing rain for over a week.....the cats and dogs are falling...
WE have needed it so much. Our garden was drying up and the veggies were going away..Now they can be rejuvenated...May get to do more canning in a couple of days.,
Can you imagine listing or showing property in this kind of weather?

Today, Tuesday, is a learning day in our office..
WE are going to have a SeaCoast Seller Web Advantage course that will taught to us on the Web..
It will show us how to do Activity Reports, Comparative Analysis with just a few clicks of a button.
I have been doing all of this manually and I think this will be a real timesaver for me.
I will let you know it goes..

ginger of southport: Watching a program about Katrina

I am watching a program about Hurricane Katrina, on the Weather Channel. I was absolutely astounded and what I saw. There was so much of a lack of response to help those folks that were stranded in New Orleans. They were desperate for food, water and shelter. I can not imagine what they experienced.
I live in a coastal community of North Carolina and I can not fathom that happening ot us here.

ginger of southport: Kayak Day for us...today

It has been a long time since we have missed church on Sunday and taking the grandchildren with us.
Today...eveyone had something else to do...so we are going to spend the afternoon in the Kayaks in the creek. We have only done this a couple of times..but feel that it is necessary to get out into God's gifts to us.
We will sing some hymns and pray...but on the creek,not in church..today.

Love that song. Used to sing it a lot.
But today is a rejuvenating day for me. I have just enjoyed the day. Not doing anything that I don't have today. Although I may need to can tomatoes tonight. But basically, I am having a day off.
The only thing that i have to do later in the day...is to go to the dock with Jimmy and see the sun set! and I do plan to do that.
Hope that you have been able to have a relaxing Saturday too.
