We Celebrated Jimmy's Birthday yesterday..
The first thing I did was to make him a Birthday "Create A Card".... and put a fun picture of he and I on the front.
Then at lunch, his co-workers gave him a Italian Nut Cake and A Carrot Cake..
Then...the Big Suprise...I bought him a new wide screen Computer....with all the bells and whistles. Kim our Computer Tech...fixed it up to look just like his computer in his office..(that was hillarious, since he has a sign on it that says..."If you can't leave it like it is...don't sit down"..

Have a property that has been under contract since May as a short sale for $285,000.
Offer came in at $280,000 and through months of negotiating was accepted by Bank of America. (They did an appraisal and it came in at $280,000.
Now that everything has been negotiated and accepted...the buyer's bank had an appraisal done and it came in at $250,000.
We are at a stalemate with no place to go...
Any Suggestions?

"The Rain in Spain falls Mainly on the Plain."
Not so here. I am in the southeast part of North Carolina where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Cape Fear River...and the rain is falling on us.
We live on a creek, called the Beaver Dam Creek (for obvious reasons) and the 10 inches of rain that we have gotten..is quite enough.
Seems like the weather systems that affect us think we need more.
I will let you know how it turns out

Not really...
We have needed a good rain so much. Finally we got over 7 1/2 inches of rain. Usually there is a dip in the yard that fills up with water...and we call it Ginger Lake... This morning, we got up and there was NO Standing water in the yard anywhere. That means that the grown was so thirsty...that it soaked it all up. Maybe our WaterTable is higher now.
We are still trying to grow a Fall Garden.. Will report on that progress later.

Today has been a wonderful day with the grandchildren. Two of our Grandson were playing Soccer.
Jonah the eight year old was playing on one field as Joshua the 4 year old was playing on the other field.
Have you ever tried to watch two soccer games at the same time.? What great fun. Both were doing well and I just hopped from one game to the next. Jonah is a seasoned player with 3 years of soccer behind him, but Joshua...1st game.
It was all fabulous.

Today has been an awesome day on Beaver Dam Creek.
Morning started by going to church and taking 2 of the grandchildren with us. There we met our daughter and her husband and son. So we filled up a row at church.
After church, we all came home to eat our Sunday Dinner. Today we had London Broil that was marinated and broiled with Onions, Buttered Potatoes, Corn from the Garden, Salad with homemade thousand Island dressing, French Bread, sweet tea and fresh blueberry cobbler.
Thenk we just sat around for a bit and watched the grandchildren play..

I just got a new Dell Latitude E5510 and a new Blackberry Curve 8500 Series.
I have been on the phone for 3 days with Tech support trying to get Top Producer downloaded on to the BlackBerry.
Has anyone else had this problem.
I am so frustrated at this point.

ginger sells southport: Jelly Making Day on Beaver Dam Creek!

Yesterday, my husband picked a bucket of grapes, so this morning I am cooking them to make the juice for the jelly. These are Muscadine Grapes, so the jelly will be a lovely color of purple.
Traditionally, we put the grapes in a large square plastic box and let each of the grandchildren stomp them for a bit. It is the best way to get all of the juice out of the grapes. Could not get them all together to do this ..this year but they got stomped anyway.
Tonight, we will add sugar and cook and put in to sterilized jars. … (3 comments)

This is a wonderful time of the year. For us at the coast...it is like our last hurrah before fall comes.
Today we went to a crab derby in Southport and caught crabs. The Grandchildren had such a great time.
Other of the family will be here soon and we will probably go to the beach.
Tonight is Spagetti Dinner time...
So good to have family and friends around us.

Today was our traditional Labor Day Crab Derby....
I took 3 of our grandchildren...with nets, and string and chicken legs to the dock in Southport's Small Boat Harbor. It was great fun. Jonah age 8, Joshua age 4 and Marissa age 2...What a trip. I will try to post pictures a bit later.
We caught a total of about 12 crabs. Each of the children won a T-Shirt and loved it!

Tomorrow our family comes to enjoy the Fun In the Sun with us...
It is a family time that we spend together.
The first thing that we do is to gather the family together...go to the pier and ...participate in the Crab Derby in Southport. WE will have 6 of us....crabbing.
WE will range in age from 2 years to 14 years..of age.

Today was an extraordinary day with the younger grandchildren. They live here locally but we do play an active part in there upbringing since the daddy works on Saturdays.
They arrive at 10:00 and there was much to do in Southport NC today. There was a wooden sale boat race that started at 1:00. We decided to go and watch the beginning of the race. Joshua, who is 4 and Marissa who is 2...could not wait to see the sails being raised to begin the race.
We were there and watched it all happen...They were so excited..me too..just tired now.
