property: A Listing: Hopeful for Good News

I have a listing that was not having any showings. It is a nice home in a very affordable price range. About 3 weeks ago, after very few showings, the homeowners agreed to a small price reduction. There were still no showings. The homeowners took my suggestions on simple curb appeal improvements. I made new pictures for the MLS and I did some more advertising, but still no showings. I also posted the listing on Activerain last week. Guess what? This week, there have been 4 showings and 2 may be promising. I hope this is a good sign for the … (6 comments)
property: The Drought in the South

My family was reminded of the seriousness of the drought in the South as we were driving down I-85 south from Spartanburg, South Carolina to Georgia. As we crossed over the bridges over Lake Hartwell, we saw barren land that was previously covered with water and docks that were surrounded by "beaches" instead of water. There was a thin strip of water in the middle of the lake, but for the most part Lake Hartwell looked very dry and lonely. It was a very sad sight to see. Have a Great Sunday! property: HOA: Self Managed or Management Company

We are having a major dilemma in our subdivision. Our subdivision has just been completed and the developer/builder has turned the HOA over to the community. We have elected our Board Members, who have agreed to handle this very time consuming and sometimes grueling task. After much research, the Board Members decided it was in the best interest of the subdivision to have the HOA managed by an outside source. Go Away Fay!! According to the national news, Fay is slated to the hit the Florida Keys as a Hurricane. The tourist have been ordered to leave and now the residents are boarding up their homes and businesses to wait for the worse. I can't imagine how it would be to wait for a storm to pass to see if my family would survive, if my home would be standing or if my business would sustain.
