mountain home: Deck The Halls Open House in Mountain Home, Arkansas - 12/08/10 01:11 AM
Deck The Halls Open House in Mountain Home, Arkansas started with a Garland and bow on a door at Century 21 LeMac Realty.  It morphed over the next 3 or 4 days to an "Oh My Goodness moment" when I had a client with a 3 year old daughter walk in the office and put her hands over her mouth in that classical pose.

The agents at My office decided to "Deck The Halls" and we brought in decorations from home...purchased some goodies to embellish the look...not to … (0 comments)

mountain home: Local Food Pantry Help! - 12/06/10 07:49 AM
Local Food Pantry Help!  Several years ago My wife and I talked about the need we saw here in the local area which happens to be Mountain Home, Arkansas.  I am sure that your local area is much like ours...even though I also know that we all live and work in diverse areas.

While shopping for grocery items that we thought we would deliver to some folks we knew to be in need...we bumped into 3 other Realtors from my Board here in town.  We are competitors...but we all had the same idea...to help those less fortunate than … (0 comments)

mountain home: The Golden Rule for Sales and for Life - 11/29/10 04:47 AM
The Golden Rule for Sales and for Life!  It seems to be an appropriate time of the year for a bit of reflection.  I have heard various forms of "The Golden Rule" from "Them that has the Gold, makes the Rules" to the one I have been taught "Do unto Others as You would have Them do unto You".
Most of us are familiar if not quite accomplished with the above Golden Rule.  How many of us have even heard of The Platinum Rule ?  I have heard sales trainers mention it, and I have even heard a pastor include it … (4 comments)

mountain home: Recognizing a "Nice" act. - 11/08/10 08:25 AM
Recognizing a "Nice" act.  Can be very simple and require nothing more than a Thank You or it can be very elaborate.  I wrote a blog last week about a "Nice" act that a past client of mine had done.  The Clayton's own Nature's Way Health Food Store on the square in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
The piece I wrote focused on the fact that they are involved here in their adopted community and wanted to help!  They are not newcomers to the Mountain Home area, I sold them the store and a home years ago.
I got a call today … (6 comments)

mountain home: Exercise Your Rights! - 10/29/10 01:34 AM
Exercise Your Rights!  Even though I try to avoid the media onslaught...it is obviously impossible to avoid all the election brew-ha-ha.  Yes I did say EXERCISE Your Rights!
My trips to the gym always help me clear my mind and find focus.  They are not without stiffness and yes even some pain.  The old saying...No Pain...No Gain!  Is of course true.  Exercise brings some pain...but the lack of exercise brings even more!
I am amazed when I read or hear that they are expecting a 45 to 50% turnout for this election.  The new electronic ballot boxes are almost painless....Yes I … (3 comments)

mountain home: Attitude of Gratitude - 10/26/10 04:25 AM
An Attitude of Gratitude is what I have been working on building in my Life as well as my business.  It is no secret that times...they have been tough.  Those of us that have been in this business for more than a few years have seen tough patches before.  Very few few have seen it be as tough, for as long as this one.
I am very thankful for the blessings of living and working in this wonder filled country of ours. Specifically living and working here in the Mountain Home area.  I am however, human.  I do get to points … (10 comments)

mountain home: Thermometer or Thermostat? - 10/20/10 01:35 AM
Thermometer of Thermostat?  Which are You?  My pastor delivered a powerful message Sunday and one of the points he discussed was just that.

As I listened to his message it began to sink in...It is easy to be a thermometer...to be a reporter of information, to be an order taker.  It is much more challenging to be a thermostat, to actually control the temperature, to initiate a change in our environment, to heat up the market.
Yes, I do realize that power is required to use a thermostat effectively.  Who is going to be the power … (5 comments)

mountain home: Dependence on Technology - 10/14/10 03:18 AM
Dependence on Technology can bite you!  We spent the morning yesterday reminding ourselves how to do business without the Internet and without telephones....YUCK!  My office here in Mountain Home has cable Internet, and currently, cable telephone.  Our service was interrupted by a bad circuit 60 miles away for the entire morning yesterday.

We were fortunate that we (the agents) all have cell phones.  So, we were able to contact clients and closing companies and all the different contractors that are now involved in a Real Estate transaction.
I know … (8 comments)
