realtor life: Skyslope Tips and Tricks for Realtor Paperwork Submission - 06/27/15 06:14 PM
Skyslope Tips and Tricks for Realtor Paperwork Submission?
Here are two good ideas. No, let's say GREAT ideas. G R E A T!
There is a learning curve with any new technology.
There are videos and in house training video offered by Skyslope for this product.
The staff is courteous, patient, and very helpful. A plus plus plus kind of service.
They even sent me a Starbucks card after I spent all day trying to get a complicated case through the Skyslope system.
Here are the two points.
After you submit the address to open the Listing or Contract File, print out the list of the form names.

realtor life: Gone With the Wind Again and Again - 09/29/14 01:24 PM
Gone With the Wind Again and Again!
I've lost track. I've read the book. I've seen it over and over again.
It's like an old friend. It's on TCM tonight.
I almost forgot! I even write a term paper about the production of the movie in High School.
Romance, drama, intrigue, adventure....and let's get right  to the point.
It has Rhett Butler.

realtor life: Realtors! How to convert a sit down desk to a stand up desk! - 03/18/14 04:52 PM
Realtors! How to convert a sit down desk to a stand up desk!
This project has consumed me for a couple of weeks. I have been rattling on about it.
Yep, rattling.
Now I peer out the window anxiously awaiting the FedX and UPS delivery.
For this 5'5" Realtor, think twelve inches for the sit down to stand up desk conversion.
That is the magic number.
Put a twelve inch step stool or footstool on a thirty inch high desk or table and PRESTO you are now working at a stand up desk. And burning more calories doing so!
Think....a footstool … (11 comments)

realtor life: What were your favorite parts of the Oscars? - 03/02/14 12:38 PM
What were your favorite parts of the Oscars?
The pizza. I liked how Ellen ordered the pizza as a surprise.
I liked Whoppie's leggings that were reminiscent of the Wizard of Oz.
I liked the gentle humor.
The commercials always intrigue me on big HUGE events.
It is interesting to watch the best of the best marketing ideas.
And I still don't know who won because I taped a small part of it.
Sshhhhhhhhhhhh.
Did she say five million movie tickets were sold last year?

realtor life: I'm selecting the SAME Recipes on Facebook! - 01/19/14 12:57 AM
I'm selecting the SAME Recipes on Facebook!
"Deja Vu all over again"....
I finally got up, pulled out a pan, and placed brocolli on one side and cabbage slices on the other. I could have put potatoes in the middle with teeny little slices, too. I finally realized I kept oohing and aaahhhing over the same recipes but just different vegetables. So I took action.
One of my friends astutely quips that if it has more than three ingredients I don't fool with it.
Gotta chuckle at that one. So very true.
I need to put garlic on the grocery … (3 comments)

realtor life: My Pumpkin Smoothie Creation - 11/05/13 12:47 PM
My Pumpkin Smoothie Creation?
I am always trying to come up with easy healthy snack ideas.
Okay, okay, I did check out the Pumpin Pie in a Jar over the top and outrageously delicious new desert at Red Lobster.
But that was last week midstream during Trick or Treat Season.
It's back to sanity this week.
So I bought two cans of pumpkin.
I am eyeing cinnamon spice in the spice rack.
I picked up some low fat Stonefield yogurt.
There are Pumpkin Spice KCups in the Pantry.
Hmmm...it's going to be a very interesting drink fest creation fest tomorrow.

realtor life: Late August Every Year I BURST into a SALES Explosion! - 08/23/13 11:13 AM
Late August Every Year I BURST into a SALES Explosion!
Yep, every year, without fail, right around the time the heat breaks and the kids go back to school, it starts.
I go into a selling frenzy that does not end until the Holidays.
Dust flies. The Earth shakes. Just kidding, but it feels like it.
Anyway, I have a couple of projects left to do before the Annual KABOOM starts in a couple of weeks.
Wrapping up learning RPR and Listings to Leads and Reliance so these tools are quick and easy to use.
Just a week or so left … (5 comments)

realtor life: No one said Real Estate was EASY. - 05/21/13 02:04 PM
No one said Real Estate was EASY.
I get to sit in class all day for continuing education credits. Like 9 hours.
Well, there is a little break.
Then I need to run the roads to the opposite side of my market place to put a sign and box on my new Waterfront Listing in Sterensville, MD
I need to find a Hardware Store open late enough to make keys.
I need to complete my blogging and commenting.
Yep, yep, I need to make lots of calls in between.
No one said Real Estate was EASY.
Huh...give it up? Nope, nope. … (6 comments)

realtor life: What Happens When Your Realtor Systems Break Down? - 04/15/13 12:19 PM
What Happens When Your Realtor Systems Break Down?
Better yet, what happens when you get your Realtor Systems BACK in place so you can go to TOWN without A FROWN?
Quite a poet laureate that Golden Girl, Cheryl.
Well, increased production, higher speed, more efficiency...the opposite of being a stuck in the MUD DUD.
I finally got the hang of all the new forms and systems at the NEW RE/MAX Office.
I was in a FUNK. I finally took a spreadsheet, made a list, and got some systems in place.
So, noooowwwww, less complaining and more paperwork processing in rural Southern … (2 comments)

realtor life: I'll Share my Blankie if YOU share yours, too! - 04/03/13 12:36 PM

I'll Share my Blankie if YOU share yours, too!
My Mom and I had a LONG Real Estate Business Meeeting this evening.
We went ALMOST 5.5 hours nonstop. Yep.
We did spice it up with a little fun, though.
I threw chicken on the grill for a spontaneous snazzy salad with sesame seeds, craisins, grapes, carrots, celery, pineapple and all but the kitchen sink thrown in.
But the soothing and especially sweet part of the evening was Riley Rover.
The other day I laid a comforter out for him after he got his first Spring Garden Hose Dance … (6 comments)

realtor life: Winter February Day in the Life of a Southern Maryland Realtor - 02/13/13 12:58 PM

Describe a Winter February Day in the Life of a Southern Maryland Realtor?
Okay, picture taking pictures of a new listing.
Then walking a lot to get a feel for the pricing.
Then going to a monthly two hour educational sales meeting.
Then showing six or seven houses.
Did I forget something? Hey, I need to fit a Starbucks and Panera stop in there somewhere!

realtor life: Ready, Start, Go...Name ten brands or words to get to know you FAST! - 01/10/13 08:29 PM

Ready, Start, Go...Name ten brands or words to get to know you FAST!
Okay, with zero thought, here are mine...Golden Retrievers, Southern MD, Starbucks, Apple, Eddie Bauer, Panera, RE/MAX, Country Music, ***News, Jeep.
If you hang around me , that list pretty much sums it up.
So, after roughly six TOW  jobs I drew the line at seven yesterday.
Yes,  my GREEN Jeep is in the shop this coming week. Again#1 Million.
So guess what followed me home last night? Uh huh!
Meet my new family member, Blue.
Gotta Run! Can't wait to see Blue in the light of … (6 comments)

realtor life: Good Morning, Good Morning, Good Morning to YOU! - 11/09/12 07:35 PM
Good Morning, Good Morning, Good Morning to YOU!
My Dad used to sing that to us early in the morning as Kids.
He actually had this great baritone. But that early in the morning it was hard to appreciate anything let alone his serenade.
You just wanted to pull the pillow over your head. Maybe pour ice cubes in his slippers.
It was not funny because he would reserve it for those mornings when you had to be somewhere so early even the Roosters were snoozing.
But he was an early bird. To bed at Nine and rise and shine early … (6 comments)

realtor life: My Grandmother Always Talked About Indian Summer - 10/10/12 12:24 PM
My Grandmother Always Talked About Indian Summer!
You know, those perfect Fall Days that are reminiscent of Summer but without all the humidity.
Toss in some spectacular Color, a sunny day, and a special hour to walk the Chesapeake Beach Railway Trail...and you've discovered a perfect Indian Summer day.
I know my Grandmother would be smiling ear to ear! I can hear her laughter to this day.

realtor life: So where do you find your peace? - 09/15/12 12:06 PM
So where do you find your peace?
Lately, I have enjoyed strolling the Railway Trail in Chesapeake Beach MD.
It's new. Hardly anyone is there during off hours. It is completely quiet and peaceful.
Not to mention it is stun gun pretty. They knocked it out of the park on this one.
I also enjoy the beach community where I grew up as a kid. I like to perch on the beach with my Mom.
So today I set paperwork aside and did both, yep both, in one day. And after my showing  appointment, I got a  Starbucks Frap plus Panera … (16 comments)

realtor life: Over five blogs yesterday but stumped tonight! - 07/09/12 11:50 AM
Over five blogs yesterday but stumped tonight! What a fright!
Let's see what I can blog about tonight.
I always ask myself what did I learn today that I can share?
That always gives me a good topic that shows I care.
Today was Monday which means phone calls galore.
So my post tonight might be a big bore.
Hey, gotta open the sliding door.
Time for Riley Rover to go out and for me to say Night, Night.

realtor life: Southern Maryland House Tour Surprises Today! - 06/12/12 10:48 AM
Southern Maryland House Tour Surprises Today!
The best surprise was while we were looking at homes just listed from Prince Frederick, MD to Lusby, MD today, I looked down the road from one of the just listed homes and saw a lady exercising with her three labs. Each was a different color. I tried to holler over and get her attention to ask to take a photo, but she had music playing and did not hear a thing.
Other than that, I saw a turtle, a squirrel, some beautiful flowering bushes, lots of raindrops and a couple of different Starbucks Stores. … (1 comments)

When you say Easter eggs I hear French Fries...Thrasher's French Fries at Rehoboth Beach Delaware to be exact.
It is that time of year. The Easter Bunny is coming to town.
That means Mary Sue Easter eggs, spring flowers, and ocean breezes!
Huh? this Golden Girl lives by the Southern Maryland Chesapeake Bay.
Well, once in a while you just have to make the Ocean Bound trek!
Look out, Thrasher's, look out Nick's House of Ribs, look out Outlets, guess who is coming to Town!
P.S. Maybe, just maybe, I will post a few photos of these Beach taste treats and … (4 comments)
