realtor lifestyle: Realtors! How to convert a sit down desk to a stand up desk! - 03/18/14 04:52 PM
Realtors! How to convert a sit down desk to a stand up desk!
This project has consumed me for a couple of weeks. I have been rattling on about it.
Yep, rattling.
Now I peer out the window anxiously awaiting the FedX and UPS delivery.
For this 5'5" Realtor, think twelve inches for the sit down to stand up desk conversion.
That is the magic number.
Put a twelve inch step stool or footstool on a thirty inch high desk or table and PRESTO you are now working at a stand up desk. And burning more calories doing so!
Think....a footstool … (11 comments)

realtor lifestyle: Did you change the clocks on your vehicles? - 03/09/14 09:48 AM
Did you change the clocks on your vehicles?
Nope.
But it's not what you think.
I never changed them in the first place.
I just do the math in my head.
Yep, unless it drives someone else crazy enough to change them, they stay put.
So this round I can do nothing and no math, too.
Sssshhhhh.
Yep, you bet I like all the gadgets and iPads and Fitbit watch that keep it all straight for me.

realtor lifestyle: On Mondays this Southern Maryland Realtor COOKS! - 02/23/14 11:42 PM
On Mondays this Southern Maryland Realtor COOKS!
Why Monday you say?
Well, I take Sundays off so there is not enough time to get appointments confirmed and set up after a day of rest off.
Plus, Monday is the busiest PROCESS day of the week in my book.
For several decades Monday has also been my Computer Tutor night.
I keep a list of what I need to learn and then GO FOR IT with a Tutor I have hired that is one step ahead of me in skill level. That gets increasingly more difficult to find but I know my … (3 comments)

realtor lifestyle: What's the Glitch in your Giddyup? - 01/19/14 05:42 AM
What's the Glitch in your Giddyup?
Let's talk about P R O C R A S T I N A T I O N.
Or let's call it S T A L L.
Or let's call in B R A I N  F O G.
No matter what you name it, the RESULTS, or lack thereof,  are exactly the same.
Some Realtor Project or Realtor Chore is not getting done.
AHEM.
It could be the desk needs to be cleaned off first. Law and Order is needed to focus.
It could be the checklist is out dated or out of order. Confusion … (4 comments)

realtor lifestyle: Would You Like a Cup of Teavana? It's Nirvana! - 01/03/14 08:55 AM
Would You Like a Cup of Teavana? It's Nirvana!
Once in Elementary School I got on a Peanut Butter and Marshmellow Sandwich kick.
It lasted about a year. Yep, 365 days at least.
Lately, I've been on a KCup kick. You know, Raspberry Truffle and a Pumpkin Spice and German Chocolate Cake Java Flavors.
Somewhere over the Christmas Holidays I strolled into a Teavana Tea Shop.
I should have asked Security to remove me. It was open house day and I had to make my way around the whole entire store testing it all.
Then, I rattled on about it and … (7 comments)

realtor lifestyle: A Little Help From Your Friends! - 12/30/13 11:24 AM
A Little Help From Your Friends!
I just plain needed HELP on some projects this week and actually the past month.
I needed to print a Quickbooks Report today and spent hours and hours trying to get it to work. I googled, I experimented, I tried and tried and tried. And TRIED.
Finally, I decided to focus on who I personally knew who was an Accountant. Time to call in the troops.
One phone call tonight and fifteen to twenty minutes later, DONE. When the correct report is not there, CREATE one with the Custom Reports tool.
Same thing with iPiccy. … (3 comments)

realtor lifestyle: No Big Deal vs Big Deal Active Rain Contest 2013 - 12/29/13 06:44 AM
For the No Big Deal vs Big Deal Active Rain 2013 Contest, I am going to choose to write a BIG DEAL version.
Here you go.
For almost two and a half decades I hosted a Wreath Making Dinner Party at Mosquito Gulch Early December.
It took ten days to prepare. I had it down to a science. I invited friends, family, clients, coworkers, neighbors etc. It was my signature party for many, many years. It was a very, very big deal to me. I poured heart and soul into it.
But this year I had to throw in the towel. … (5 comments)

realtor lifestyle: Pondering Some New Years Changes? - 12/29/13 03:38 AM
I am pondering some New Years Changes.
Thinking about what is going OUT and what is ringing IN.
Let's see. These are some words on my mind.
Fitbit, iPad Contracts, Teavana Tea, BoardWALKS and BEST Sales and Listing year EVER.
It's one year of INVISALINE check ups, too.
It's to be a BUSY, Fruity, Nutty Focused kind of year. Cheers!

realtor lifestyle: Have You Ordered Your FitBit Yet? - 12/01/13 12:06 PM
Have You Ordered Your FitBit Yet?
I ask this right before Cyber Monday you see.
Well, I selected The Force or the wrist band option.
It ties in to the My Fitness Pal App plus the Map My Walk app.
Bottom line, it tracks your walks, steps, stairs climbed, sleep, weight etc.
There is even a scale that can connect via Bluetooth for even more pounds list and body mass data.
You can connect with your Friends to cheer one another on.
Two invites are out already.
The only disappointment?
It was not charged up when I received it today so … (0 comments)

realtor lifestyle: What are your Black Friday Spoils? - 11/29/13 12:22 PM
What are your Black Friday Spoils?
The Love of Dogs Calendar is in my office every year. Calendars.com won that BF award.
My iPhone at the end of a long work day is kaput. Mophie.com got the second BF award.
The third Black Friday award? A spare key for my Jeep at Ace Hardware. You know who locked you know what in her Jeep last week.
Three problems solved. One left to cover.

realtor lifestyle: How do you exercise and work at the same time? - 09/08/13 04:38 PM

How do you exercise and work at the same time?
Well, one solution could be you get up at regular intervals and clean up the house or office in little projects all week.
Or you take outdoor walk breaks.
Or you take indoor walk breaks when the phone rings. Just hoof it up and down the stairs.
Or you grab your iPad and work and talk on the treadmill.
Or you go for the gusto with the Treadmill Desk https://www.lifespanfitness.com/workplacesolutions-treadmill-desk-and-bike-desk.html?gclid=CO2k7r6uvbkCFcdr7AodQHcAVw

Excuses for Falling off the Blogging Bandwagon?
I lost  Internet Access this week for three days.
Talk about putting a crimp in my style.
Try to run a real estate business without Internet.
Uh huh!
I finally have it resolved and that means do three days in one.
Uh oh. Good thing I had my trusty iPad to cover for me!

realtor lifestyle: How to Get Back on the Blogging Bandwagon - 07/28/13 02:20 AM
How to Get Back on the Blogging Bandwagon?
Well, come Sunday, when you discover you have none of the TEN weekly posts written, you....
Take Responsibilty and realize the commitment is ten a week so that means ten today.
Ten today means spread them all over the day  so they do not get in your way of other projects.
Today's project?
Clean the work closet top to bottom.
After pushing, tugging, moving and rearranging the HUGE work closet to make it more systems friendly, a little blog post here and there is a welcome relief.
Looking forward to the end of the … (3 comments)

Project List for Realtors?
Well, my list goes from here to Kingdom Come.
It ito enough to scare me so I know it would scare you, too.
Let's just say at the end of this Day by the Bay, I am really, really pleased to be wrapping up my Listing and Buyer PowerPoint Presentations Project.
I do that project a few times a year and it is a BEAR!
Next Project this coming week?
Paperwork, paperwork, paperwork. The Project List afterwards?
This is a bunch of abbreviations and acronyms, but here it goes...UH OH! Forewarned is forearmed!

A Perfect Day Off Includes?
What does a perfect day off mean to you?

A good book and lots of sunshine.

realtor lifestyle: No one said Real Estate was EASY. - 05/21/13 02:04 PM
No one said Real Estate was EASY.
I get to sit in class all day for continuing education credits. Like 9 hours.
Well, there is a little break.
Then I need to run the roads to the opposite side of my market place to put a sign and box on my new Waterfront Listing in Sterensville, MD
I need to find a Hardware Store open late enough to make keys.
I need to complete my blogging and commenting.
Yep, yep, I need to make lots of calls in between.
No one said Real Estate was EASY.

realtor lifestyle: Sneak Preview of Home to Be Built North Beach and Prince Frederick MD - 05/04/13 03:29 PM
Here's the Sneak Preview of a Home to Be Built North Beach and Prince Frederick MD.
I stayed up past midnight to get a new home to be built plus a lot listing in the MLS.
Just as I selected and loaded the thirty photos, the computer program shut down.
Huh!???
So being a very determined but bone tired Golden Girl, I got back online and selected the photos all over.
Do I need to tell you what happened AGAIN? So...
Did I go for round three?
