chandler: Vita's Place is Brookside's Best Wine Bar
- 11/08/24 11:33 AM
There are locally owned bars in the Brookside/Waldo area that have a chummy, neighborhood vibe– similar to the Cheers TV sitcom where “everybody knows your name". Perhaps you know the bartender or tend to run into a neighbor during the visit. I'm thinking of places like Charlie Hooper’s or The Brooksider; Walsh’s Corner Cocktails. For several months now, Brookside has a wine bar with that same atmosphere…tucked away on Oak St around the corner from the Crestwood Shops. Vita’s Place is owned by Brookside residents Ryan and Jenny Scaira; and is named after Ryan’s grandmother, an immigrant from Sicily who lived

chandler: Log Built Homes and Home Inspections
- 11/07/24 11:37 AM
Log Cabin or Log Built Homes are beautiful but not very prolific, so it makes inspecting them a specialty. A log cabin inspection has similarities to a home inspection and home warranty inspections but it also has unique characteristics that require knowledge and experience to it is as thorough as it can be. I wrote this article to highlight the unique aspect that is brought to a home inspection when the home is log built. In my opinion when a home has log built components a quality and through home inspection should have the methods and observations you are about

- 11/06/24 06:23 AM
The 2024 Election is Over Let the Healing Begin The past 6 moths have seen angst and angry words far too often. Friends have been on opposite sides, and it has made for tense moments. On party ran a candidate that was appointed and not selected through primary. The other side said let's try it again. For better or worse, there will be a change in administration in Washington in January and the world will wait to see what changes come with it. The major influence on the voters mid was the state of the economy and the strength of

chandler: Keeping The Independent Contractor Boundary (Part 1)
- 11/05/24 04:15 AM
With the end of the calendar year fast approaching and the advent of 1099-NECs fast approaching, it’s important to have a refresher on what constitutes an Independent Contractor, as many are hired as such in the real estate and construction industry, but unfortunately there are many lines crossed that get blurred and could often lead to that person(s) be considered a potential W2 employee if the hiring person isn’t careful. The Independent Contractor’s Business Be aware though that if you control an independent contractor’s or leased employee’s performance on the job, you may be classified as a “joint employer” along with

- 11/03/24 11:43 AM
This week the median list price for Chandler, AZ is $609,950 with the market action index hovering around 42. This is about the same as last month's market action index of 42. Inventory has increased to 520 In the last few weeks the market has achieved a relative stasis point in terms of sales to inventory. However, inventory is sufficiently low to keep us in the Seller’s Market zone so watch changes in the MAI. If the market heats up, prices are likely to resume an upward climb. The market is hovering around this plateau. Look for a persistent change in the Market

chandler: Uncovering All Saints’ Day: Meaning and Significance
- 11/01/24 07:25 AM
Celebrate the Lives of Saints and Loved Ones When the leaves turn and the days grow shorter, many people think of Halloween. However, just a day later, another important celebration occurs: All Saints' Day. This special day honors saints and martyrs, both known and unknown, inviting you to reflect on the qualities that inspire you. The Origins of All Saints’ Day In the early years of Christianity, believers wanted to honor saints who had made significant sacrifices. Initially, many people celebrated the martyrdom of these saints on different days. However, as time passed, Pope Gregory III established November

Let's hope and pray for a safe Halloween day and evening for our children today. Despite all the evil out there every day our children have "sweet dreams" about this day looking forward to showing off their costumes and collecting candy. I didn't have any pics of my kids handy to use for the post so here is one of Tina in the play THE ADAMS FAMILY when she was in high school. Ironically she is the one in a brides costume, ironic as she was a Bride just two weeks ago. Halloween is a scary time for parents with

chandler: Is it a good idea for seniors to move closer to family?
- 10/27/24 10:55 AM
Great post by Barbara. Bill Is it a good idea for seniors to move closer to family? As seniors age, moving closer to family offers a world of benefits that enrich their lives and ease the challenges of aging. For many seniors, familiar routines and neighborhoods bring comfort, but with time, managing everything alone can become difficult. Being closer to family means loved ones are nearby to assist with daily needs, from attending medical appointments to handling unexpected issues. This support can ease the pressure on seniors to manage everything on their own, making life simpler and safer. Additionally,
