A six month moratorium on development throughout the western end of Moore County was been implemented and now three of the county's towns are considering moratoriums for reasons of their own.
SOUTHERN PINES, NC is contemplating a freeze on development, ostensibly to be imposed so that the town's Comprehensive Land Use Plan can be updated. But the issue was suddenly thrust to the front burner when concerns were expressed about how the would-be-developers of Pine Needles Village tract might supposedly react to the Town Council's rejection of their plans.
