Bryan-College Station Special Olympics Fundraiser This year marks the 45th anniversary of Special Olympics Summer Games. When Eunice Kennedy Shriver saw how unfairly children with intellectual disabilities were treated by others, she decided to empower them by giving them a place to perform the activities they were left out of from their more able-bodied counterparts. What began as a day camp in Mrs. Shriver's backyard has become a nationwide movement. Law enforcement officers in the Bryan-College Station area have taken up this wonderful cause founded by Mrs. Shriver as their own.
