exposure on internet: Follow-Up Post: My Meeting With Mr. Non-Internet Realtor - 12/22/10 05:05 AM

A week ago I posted about a chance meeting with an older Realtor who was struggling.
The Parade Passed Him By.....The Death of a Salesman
I recieved many positive comments, including the suggestion that I incorporate this gentleman into my team by Lenn and others. This made perfect sense....so yesterday I met with him again to discuss this idea.
First....what a wealth of knowledge this man has!
Although he hasn't evolved with the Internet in terms of leads and lead generation, he has developed an expertise of the new market. Short Sales and REOs, negotiations and lender issues. He … (27 comments)

exposure on internet: The Parade Passed Him By......The Death Of A Salesman - 12/15/10 02:33 PM

I tried to help someone today. I was in a local real estate office (not even mine) and I saw an older Realtor® that I knew. He sold one of our old homes....15 years ago.
He looked the same, maybe a bit more worn. Probably worn out. He was surprised to find I was an agent also..and that I was having a great year. He has barely been hanging on the past few years (the bust of the boom).
He asked me to go to coffee. Even though my day was very busy, I went. There was something in … (146 comments)

exposure on internet: Internet Leads Don't Work.....Guess How Much I Made On Internet Leads In 2 Months......$28,404 - 11/01/10 01:21 PM
I know, I know.....blogging doesn't work. Or maybe it works for others, but not for you. Or the agents who can get Internet Leads are the local powerhouses with aged websites. Or Internet Leads are too hard to work. Or Internet Leads don't give you phone numbers, so they aren't real. Or, or, or, or.....or maybe they work just fine!
While you are busy the past couple months explaining why Internet Leads don't work....I was out working with 3 different leads which all closed last week. Two from Active Rain and one from Trulia. And my Active Rain leads actually ended … (59 comments)

exposure on internet: Social Media.....How Much of Yourself Should You Expose? Staying Professional Online - 03/16/10 07:18 AM
I have taken a stand against adding clients or associates onto my Facebook. It started early when I had only a couple of friends and could see clearly what everyone was doing. Now? I check in and find 300+ notifications. Maybe if I added clients and associates now, I wouldn't notice it as much. I know that many, many, many of you find Facebook and other Social Media sites an important marketing tool. I'm not going to argue that I'm losing out on this, but I enjoy the silly, unprofessional side of me, and I'm smart enough to know where....and where … (30 comments)

exposure on internet: Using the Internet.....One Big Pre-Qual for Realtors - 10/21/09 05:38 AM
I read about the Internet being a competition for Realtors. I think it's the exact opposite! If used correctly, we can "partner" with this big information source and use it as a pre-qualification tool. What do I mean? Ok, let's think about it.
Market Research:
Before the Internet, clients had no idea about pricing or inventory. We had to build quick credibility to be able to give them the truth about prices. If we were unable to establish this trust very quickly, these clients would often go away to "think" about what we've said and perhaps talk to various other agents … (7 comments)
