Small Lake, Big Fish | Lake Mission Viejo  Members Land Some Big Fish!
My husband is an avid fisherman! Plugs in his Ipod and saddles up a camp chair or boat and off he goes. Giddy Yup! And full disclosure...Lake Mission Viejo isn't THAT small. But still....it has some big fish, apparently
In fact, he's fishing right now :).
So today when I picked up the Lake Mission Viejo Newsletter and say the "fish story" on the back page, it's drew my attention. On the cover was a smiling picture of Andy Kotnik holding his freshly caught … (2 comments)

mission viejo realtor: Buying Your Mission Viejo Home Is A Series Of "Yeses" Not One Big Decision - 05/27/11 04:54 AM

Buying Your Mission Viejo Home Is A Series Of "Yeses" Not One Big Decision
This is one of the first things I tell Mission Viejo Home Buyers when we meet. Finding a home to write an offer on is the very first step in this process....not the last step.
Understanding the entire process of Home Buying can really demystify and provide comfort that there are many opportunities to change their minds. As long as the answer to the questions are "Yes" we keep moving toward the close...and the first "No" we move on.
Yes....I want to write an offer on … (5 comments)

mission viejo realtor: Time To Hit The Ground Running......Or Maybe Next Week! Don't Waste The Most Important Week Of The Year - 12/27/10 05:05 AM

This is the most important week in real estate. A lot of the general public is off work, out and about, and looking forward to the New Year. For many, that means a new home.
Now I know some of you are thinking..."lookie loos visiting family....waste of time." Maybe. But what else are you doing today? Isn't all visibility good visibility? Isn't spending time with people looking at homes a better business tool than watching a bowl game?
I'm not suggesting that taking a day off is bad....of course we all need that! But if you get … (5 comments)

You Have References From Your Potential Realtor....But You Don't Know What To Ask?

Let's face it....if you knew everything that could go wrong/right with a real estate transaction, and how to handle it, you wouldn't need a Realtor®. You are considering a real estate professional for that very reason...to handle it for you. You need someone you can trust and want to do your due diligence to make sure that you are making the right decision. So, you've asked for references.
Of course no one gives out negative references (actually, I do) so you expect to make a phone call … (32 comments)

mission viejo realtor: When Did Real Estate Become A Game? - 11/29/10 06:32 AM

I've been buying and selling real estate for a long time. In the "old" days we used to take these transactions seriously.
Buyers considered homes and offers carefully before writing offers Buyers' agents ran comps, prepared complete offers and called the listing agent PRIOR to emailing an offer Agents responded quickly to offers with respect for the parties Counters and negotiations were handled with great care and deliberation Escrows were opened with the intent of closing The climate has changed, and not for the better. I tire of getting offers in my inbox which turn out to be from … (48 comments)

mission viejo realtor: Short Sale Listing Agent In Orange County, California | When To Talk To A Realtor® About A Short Sale | Short Sale Listing Agents - 11/21/10 04:07 AM

I've thought long and hard about this post! Wondering what to say to people who are considering a short sale of their home. The actual process and steps are rather simple,
1) list home2) find buyer3) negotiate with your lenders4) close escrow
I realize that was a simplified list....but really it is about that simple. We need to make sure we put ourselves in the best position to have this be successful....correct pricing, solid buyer, complete information...but given all that, then the sale will close.
But you haven't made this decision yet. And most likely, you are struggling with … (11 comments)

mission viejo realtor: As Salespeople....Sometimes We Do "Waste" Our Time, Or Do We? - 10/28/10 05:34 AM

What do you consider a waste of time? It appears that many agents consider any activity which does not result in an immediate sale a "waste of time." I disagree! If that were the case, then why do we write blog posts about our dogs and Members Only posts about anything?
The main purpose of much of our blogging is to get our name out there and have it associated with real estate. Right? Sales is a numbers game and if we always had a 100% success rate....well, everyone would be doing it.

Mission Viejo Is Hot! Time To Hit The Lake
If you are a Mission Viejo resident, you already know the benefit of the Mission Viejo Lake.  A private lake with 2 beaches, boating, fishing and cool water. With temperatures hitting 98 degrees yesterday, this is the perfect time to gather the kids, or the husband, or your friends...and head for the beach. Just down the street.
Unlike the California beaches, this one has plenty of free parking, beautiful white beaches and even an ice cream stand. Summer doesn't get much better.
We hear that the heat will ease up this weekend, but … (8 comments)

mission viejo realtor: Can You Handle The Truth From Your Realtor? - 12/30/09 03:44 AM
Here it is....."I don't know." I wish I did! I wish I knew when your house will sell, and at what price. I wish I knew what the sellers/bank/court will accept as a purchase price. I wish I knew what interest rates will be next month. I wish I knew if now was the best time to buy/sell or if you should wait. I wish I had the right answers all the time, but I don't. And that's not why you use a Realtor.....that might be why you use a fortune-teller :).
Realtors are facilitators. We are negotiators and fact finders. … (5 comments)

mission viejo realtor: Remembering - 04/03/09 12:59 PM
I have had such a busy week! I'm so fortunate to be working in a field I love.I've been a real estate junkie most of my life. I grew up in Mission Viejo and moved there in 1966 (when I was 5). I have watched all the neighborhoods develop around us. When I moved in, Mission Viejo had a sign with the population...it was 1320. I have the picture..somewhere.
As the new homes were built, my mother and I took Sunday afternoons and went through the model homes. I remember as they built ones with sunken living rooms, with wood paneling, … (3 comments)
