palm springs foreclosures: Distressed Homeowners Ask for my Help- A Realtor's 1st Short Sale Appt. - 06/05/10 02:35 PM

Having been in the real estate business since 1999, I have come across almost every type of situation imaginable:  Someone died in the house, divorced spouses fighting with each other, probate courts, flooded homes, and ghosts.  I thought I had seen and experienced everything.  Until today.
I met with a couple who had called my office a few weeks ago looking for information about selling their home.  Based on the initial conversation, I knew they were in financial trouble.  They bought their home in 2006.   The couple, along with their 2 children,  had intended to live their "American Dream".  Then came … (3 comments)

palm springs foreclosures: Million Dollar Listing- Palm Springs, CA Most Expensive Home Sales for November 2009 - 12/15/09 07:46 AM

"The Season" is upon us here in Palm Springs and the "snowbirds" are coming in droves to get away from the coldness of their hometowns.  At the beginning of the month, Palm Springs was hit with a pre-winter storm that brought rain to the valley and the air temperature plummeted to very cold levels.
The luxury real estate market in Palm Springs is just as brisk as the cold air around here.  Even though the market is not like an episode of Million Dollar Listing (Thank God!!), we had an … (5 comments)

palm springs foreclosures: Palm Springs, CA- Foreclosed Homes in Palm Springs Continues to Dominate the Real Estate Market- Homes Sales in Palm Springs for October 2009 - 11/06/09 08:50 AM
Yesterday, it was officially announced the Federal Homebuyer Tax Credit of $8000 for first-home buyers has been extended past its expiration date of November 30, 2009.
Based on the information that is available, homebuyers have until April 30, 2010 to purchase a home and it must close escrow no later than June 30, 2010.
This is good news for the real estate community and for the many people who have been "sitting on the fence"  and waiting for the perfect deal.
I have preaching to everyone since January 2009 that the time to buy real estate in Palm Springs is NOW.

palm springs foreclosures: Palm Springs Homes are Selling, News at 11 - 07/22/08 10:56 AM
When ever I am attending a dinner party or out for cocktails with friends, there are several topics that are usually off limits: Politics and Religion.
But when I meet someone new and they find out that I am a REALTOR, then the barrage of questions comes flooding in. Some of them go like this:
1. “What is the difference between a short sale and a foreclosure?” 2. “Do you think the Palm Springs Real Market has hit the bottom?” 3. “What is happening with Port Lawrence?” 4. “Do you think it’s good time to buy?”

I will usually … (5 comments)

palm springs foreclosures: Prop. 8 Can Help Palm Springs & Riverside County Homeowners Reduce Property Tax Bill - 05/01/08 05:56 AM
Every Wednesday morning, the Palm Springs Association of Realtors has its weekly Board meeting at the Mizell Senior Center at 8am.
I always get to the meeting about 15 minutes early to get a good seat.  When I got there this morning, the meeting room was packed.  There was a TV news crew setting up in the corner, and was wandering what all the hoopla was all about.
Were we having a special guest speaker?  Who was it?  The Mayor?   The Governator?  My curiosity had piqued.  It turns our speaker was Larry Ward, the Riverside County Tax Assessor.  Now I thinking to … (3 comments)
