THUD! The Sound of the Bottom of the Housing Market! With the takeover of Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac by the Feds I would say we have seen the bottom of the market. We are now in a recovery period. Interest rates will decrease (Today 5.625 fixed no points), Home prices will begin to increase. How long is the recovery period? I have no idea. A year or so? All real estate markets are local. Even here in the tri-county area we have different markets. Goose Creek and Moncks Corner the prices are holding as opposed to Mt Pleasant & Daniel Island where bargains can be found on every street corner.

Cainhoy to me was always the place I went by as I was headed to I526 or away from Hurricane Floyd (up 41 to 52 to columbia). I never paid attention to what was here. In 2006 I had the opportunity to list and sell property in the Peninsula subdivision off Clements Ferry Rd. a great place. A planned community built by DR Horton with neatly tended lawns and gardens.
