I am often asked the question “What are prices like for homes in Nanaimo?”  There are a number of different neighbourhoods in Nanaimo and each one has its own special attributes.  With that in mind prices will vary accordingly.
Based on single family home sales in Nanaimo for the month of July 2012 I have reviewed current VIREB (Vancouver Island Real Estate Board) data.  The following chart reflects the average selling prices for homes, by Nanaimo neighbourhood, for the month of July 2012.

The Cumulative Residential Average Single Family Sale Price is up by 4% over November 2010.  The average sale price was $361,210 in November 2011 compared to $348,368 in November 2010.

This spring the Nanaimo real estate market is fairly balanced.  However, with all the current inventory available there are certain areas and price ranges that are selling better than others.
I had a look at VIREB statistics for Nanaimo real estate sales for the month of March 2011. The following homes are selling faster and more frequently than others:

North Nanaimo - Of the 63 homes sold in North Nanaimo in March- 32 of them (or 51%) were priced in the $350,000 to $450,000 price range
