Fountain Hills, AZ...Disc Golf TournamentThis is why I live in Fountain Hills, AZ and you should too. I shot this on a beautiful January afternoon at the Fountain Park. It was the end of January and the 75 degree day was perfect for a Disc Golf Tournament. This was a pro Disc Golf Tournament conducted by the Professional Disc Golf Association. These guys take Frisbees to a new level! The rules are basically the same as golf. Walking around the Fountain is one of our towns favorite past time. Fountain Hills, AZ The Fountain Park The fountain was built in 1970, by Robert P. McCulloch, the year before the reconstruction of the London Bridge in Lake Havasu City, another of McCulloch's projects. The fountain sprays water for about 15 minutes every hour between 9am and 9pm. The plume rises from a concrete water-lily sculpture in the center of a large man-made lake. The fountain, driven by three 600 horsepower (450 kW) turbine pumps, sprays water at a rate of 7000 gallons per minute through an 18-inch nozzle. No, It's one of the World's Highest Fountains in Fountain Hills, AZ It’s not uncommon when I am talking with friends from out of town, potential home buyers, or even people who have lived in the Valley for years, that many of them don’t know that people actually live and work east of the McDowell Mountains. They don’t know that Fountain Hills exists, or if they’ve heard the name, they have no idea where it is, or what it is that makes it unique. Javelina Whisperer, The Babies Return...Fountain Hills, AZ They're Back! The Javelina babies return to my yard and put on a breath taking show for us. They are a couple of weeks older and getting more inquisitive each day. Watch them in HD as close as a couple of feet from my Sony Bloggie. Listen to the them bark to the other Javelina and then take a stroll down Fountain Hills sidewalks with me and the heard of Javelina. We really freak out some neighbors!
