Short sales.  Everyone is doing them.  They are all the rage right now and will be for several years to come until all these foreclosures and distressed properties get through the system.
    
In my last article Short sales and double closings - the good, the bad, and the ugly - Part 1, I discussed the basics of what a short sale double closing involves.  I also discussed "The Good" things about these transactions. Before you proceed with reading this article, I do suggest that you read Part 1 as this article is simply a continuation of that one.

short sale realtor: One idea to fix the economy - 05/18/09 04:31 AM
I came across a "revelation" just the other day while negotiating a short sale on one of our foreclosure listings.  Why not make banks use this bailout money to hire unemployed people to work in their short sale and loss mitigation departments?  That would put unemployed people back to work even if it is temporary for a year or 2, and it would hopefully speed up the whole process with short sales and mortgage modifications.  2 problems fixed at one time.  Maybe I am thinking too hard here.  Ok, enough thinking ... back to work.
