As an ex-manager of large offices for many years,  I think I can speak honestly about the industry.  It has always bothered me that the test for most people in the industry is dollars, not quality service.  Just because you sell the most houses,  doesn't make you the best agent.  In fact, many of the top agents,  trained in the Mike Ferry approach to selling, rarely interface with their clients or the other agent.  I have done transactions where I never spoke with the other agents and communicated just a few times by email...... while their marginally trained admin assistants did … (2 comments)

If you are just reading this,  be sure you have read the prior blog because this might not make much sense.
We talked in the prior blog about our presentation to buyers and the fact that we waste a lot of time telling them about our company,  our fellow agents,  our nmber of deals, our marketing plans, etc, etc.
Remember,  the reason that I go to a professional is because i assume that they know more than I do or have a skill level that I don't.  Unfortunately,  the public doesn't know what a real estate agents do and our associations … (5 comments)

I am always amazed that any time we attend a gathering of agents,  someone invariably uses the word,  "professional."  I know that in may ways,  our industry lacks professionalism but let's stop a minute and take a  closer look at the people that most of our customers consider professional.  Most are  white collar including doctors,  lawyers, dentists, tax people, etc. But, some are also blue color such as car mechanics, hair sylists and others.
