The question of which one is better comes up all the time in my conversation with clients and colleagues regarding luxury high rise condos in San Diego's waterfront. 
Both these downtown san diego condos complexes are very similar and were developed by the same builder, BOSA. 
 
Both these luxury high rise condo complexes were developed by BOSA which is a premier condo builder from Canada that has done work in Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco and San Diego.

The Grande condos were built in 2004 while Bayside condos were built in 2009, both buildings offer high quality construction, finishes and fixtures.

Electra condos in San Diego are characterized for their terrific waterfront location, the luxurious finishes of the residences and the full service amenities available typical from a BOSA building. 
Below is a summary for all condo sales at Electra for the 6 month time period April 1st 2012 to September 31st 2012. 
Electra units selling below $375 a foot represent great buys considering average quality condos and lofts in other downtown San Diego condo buildings sell at a similar price per foot but do not offer the quality and sophistication that Electra condos offer.
