century21sundance: Help Me Bail Out Midori! Please?!?! - 08/07/08 06:52 AM

Midori Miller, Manger of Century 21 Sundance's Pelican Bay office is going to jail!
Yes, you read right! JAIL!
Ok... not city or county jail but MDA Jail!

Here's the deal:
Midori is giving up her time to go behind bars until her "bail" of $3,200 is met to free her.
How you can help:
The Muscular Dystrophy Association & Midori have a secure site set up where you can donate money towards setting her free!
It doesn't have to be a lot, just a few dollars. The money goes towards fighting MDA and helping Jerry's Kids.
 Did you … (6 comments)

century21sundance: The Whales Are Back In Town! - 12/11/07 05:54 AM
Last summer I wrote about Florida's Other Snow-Bird~The Northern Atlantic Right Whales...
I told you about how they come visit us for 2 to 3 months in the winter season, have their babies then head back to Nova Scotia.
I gave you backgroud information on why they are so endangered and what is being done to try to bring their numbers back.
I also told you about the volunteers here in Flagler and Volusia Counties that do nothing but watch for these wonderous creatures 7 days a week.
Yesterday I got my first Northeren Atlantic Right Whale Sighting email of the season, I was so … (19 comments)

century21sundance: 101784 Points By Splashing In Active Rain Puddles! - 10/17/07 03:45 AM

I joined Active Rain at the invitation of my Office Manager Midori Miller on December 8th, 2006. At the time I believe the membership was at about 13,000.
Like everyone else I was nervous about writing my first blog, but I bet I was more nervous, just because I work in a Real Estate office I am not an expert in the field and I'm sure not going to tell anyone I am. I did a hokey little blog about what I had in my profile thinking everyone read profiles like me.
Since it was the begining of the holiday's I wrote Christmas VS X-mas which … (18 comments)

century21sundance: Bikers Descend Onto Pelican Bay - 09/13/07 03:42 AM

On Saturday, September 8th the residents of Pelican Bay, a gated "golf community" here in Daytona had their quiet lifestyle interrupted for a couple hours by the thunder of around 50 bikers and their machines.

They were riding up and down Pelican Bay Drive and in and out of the Pelican Bay Country Club, side by side on their shinning machines, but no one told the residents why their otherwise quiet lifestyle was being so noisily interrupted! Yes, Steve and I were among them.

We were filming a … (12 comments)

century21sundance: Florida's Other Snow-Bird~The Northern Atlantic Right Whales - 06/09/07 01:06 PM
Late December to early March is known as Snow-Bird Season in Florida. People that live up north most of the year spend 3 or 4 months here in Florida away from the bitter cold and snow.

Some of these Snow-Birds aren't human, they are the Northern Atlantic Right Whales. They spend their summers in the Bay Of Fundy then in October pregnant females and some juvenile female & males begin their long migration to Florida. We sometimes begin hearing of sightings in Georgia around the beginning of December and start to see one or two whales here in Flagler County, FL in January. … (22 comments)

century21sundance: Smoke From A Not So Distant Fire 5/11/2007 Florida Fires 2007 - 05/11/07 08:32 AM
The smoke isn't so bad here in Daytona Beach today. We have what's left of Sub Tropical Storm Andrea of our coast that blew the smoke somewhere else and I thought our Airport Road Fire was out.

                                      NOT SO.

I just finished reading the Daytona News Journal and not only is the Airport Road not out, it has gone from 60% contained to 45% contained in the last day.

On the up side it is smaller, down from 6,800 to 6,100 acres. Some firefighters have also left, their numbers are now 164 down from 190. I hope that means … (10 comments)

century21sundance: What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up? Updated - 05/03/07 12:42 PM
When I was a kid, 4th or 5th grade I used to get National Geographic's magazine for kids, I think it was called "World" then, and I loved it. It had great articles on archeology that kids could understand, it even explained hieroglyphics and all sorts of amazing things. Now, keep in mind at this time I just spent 4 amazing months in a very small village in Greece, so I was really into all this
Dad had a book called The Greek Treasure written by Irving Stoneabout famed archeologist, Henry Schliemann and his very young Greek wife Sophia.
Henry believed after … (24 comments)

century21sundance: Don't Forget Your Smoke Detector Batteries! - 03/09/07 05:18 AM
It's time to Spring Forward!
Yep, we get to lose a hour of sleep this weekend! Don't forget to change that old clock sitting in the corner over there by the family portrait, you know the one you forgot about when we fell back? While you're running around trying to remember how to change some of those more confusing DVD players, your microwaves, coffee makers, stoves, alarm clocks and anything else I may have left out, don't forget to change the batteries in your Smoke Detectors and Carbon Monoxide Detectors. This is very important, it takes all of 10 seconds to … (10 comments)

century21sundance: Got Fleas? - 01/11/07 06:17 AM

Fleas will detour a future buyer from your property just as fast as a bad odor, poor housekeeping, unruly pets or unsightly yards will.
The prospective buyer won't see them, but as soon as that little critter jumps up on their legs and chomps down, you can pretty much forget that sale (Fleas can live and reproduce without a "host", so even if the property is vacant you're problem is still there.)
If your practice flea prevention you won't have a problem when it comes time to sell your home, and the fleas won't be there to chase anyone away!
Living the "Gypsy Lifestyle" … (7 comments)
