charity: Midori Miller, You Are Under Arrest! - 08/27/08 03:26 AM

The local sheriff was here to arrest my Midori today for GOOD.
She has been arrested for the MDA LOCKUP!
In order for Midori to be released she has to raise bail in the amount of $3,200 and she has so far she has raised $700.
Now, Midori needs our help, she has a long way to go and not a lot of time to raise the rest of that cash. If you go to her secure site you can donate any amount you want towards her bail.

I used to live in the small village of Ballston Spa in Upstate NY, most of you know I do miss it, specially this time of year.
I'm still in touch with a couple people up there and on occasion get emails about events and feel good stories from one of my favorite areas of our great country. Yesterday I received one such email with a story I just had to share with you.
The story appeared on Albany's Fox 23 News and was reported by Jeff Saperstone and is titled:

You've waited a long time for this one haven't you? You want to know how many bikes were on the ride, how much money did we raise, how did everything go?

It was a beautiful day, no threat of rain, nice and warm, perfect for our Bike Parade. I took over 360 photos this day, but I couldn't manage a good shot from the back of our 82 Shovel-head, of the actual ride.. HOWEVER! I did hook up with a photography club and they were placed thru-out the parade route with still and video cameras, when I get some of … (13 comments)

charity: Giving Back, What Are The Pitfalls? - 03/15/07 08:13 AM
Yesterday I read REALTORS Doing Good Works in their Communities by Darren Kittleson.
He told about he is now involved in "Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN)" with "5 of his "fellow agents" He then told about dinner at a restaurant where the restaurant has a program called "share a meal". If you have not read his post, please do so. I've not heard of either program, I hope both are successful! In wrapping up his post he asks us 'Rainers is what ways have you found to give back to your communities?  How did you organize it?  What were the pitfalls? etc...." … (8 comments)
