The Casa Kids Campus of Casa de Amparo will soon open in the Twin Oaks Valley. Casa de Amparo roughly translates to "House of Refuge.”  Ten years in the making, the stage is now set for Casa de Amparo’s groundbreaking for a new Casa Kids Campus on 11.4 acres of land in Twin Oaks Valley adjacent to San Marcos.  The groundbreaking was be held Tuesday, November 16, 2010. Victory Garden at Heritage Park in San Marcos Recently a group of community volunteers from the San Marcos Historical Society, the Kiwanis Club of San Marcos and teens from Reflections North spent the day out at Walnut Grove Park in San Marcos. My wife and I took a few hours in between client visits and open houses this weekend to get a little exercise out at the San Diego Wild Animal Park.  Although there were a lot of visitors to the park we managed to get away from the crowds where most people never travel; the Baja Garden.  It is a great place to "brown bag it" and enjoy the spectacular views.

San Marcos Museum is almost home at Heritage Park
The old Mary Young Connors Hall doesn't look very welcoming at the moment but soon it will be set on its new foundation and open again for museum visitors. 
 
When re-opened in Early 2010 the Museum will sit between a brand new Heritage Park and Museum welcome center (Foundation is ready for the building) and two historic homes at Heritage Park.
