foreclosure video: Foreclosed Family Watches Helplessly as Craigslist Crowds Strip House - 10/25/12 03:45 AM

So is posting a Craig’s List ad that says “take what you want” a good idea? Well a Woodstock, GA homeowner learned that people will do just that as they literally broke into it and ransacked, ravaged, and took everything they could. Never a good idea to break into a house, but the ad can be construed to mean “take what you want” -
“Fairly large, free yard sale. Moving and we want everything to go for free. So come over and take whatever you want and how much you want. Here are a couple of items that will be … (2 comments)

foreclosure video: Nature Comes Inside, Literally - Atlanta Foreclosure Video - 01/10/12 09:37 AM
This Atlanta foreclosure made me grab the cam for a couple of reasons. Looking at the home, it was interesting to see how vegetation has encroached on and into the structure – the front entrance is completely blocked, the rear facade has shrubbery right on it and there were good sized plants growing in the gutters – not the usual weeds occasionally seen. There was evidence of rodent infestation, easy to see why.
The kitchen has been removed; completely. The vandalism was thorough and comprehensive; most windows were broken or completely removed, bathrooms were smashed and the rest of the home had … (1 comments)

foreclosure video: A Spider Web Covered Atlanta Foreclosure - video - 01/10/12 08:59 AM
I've been posting foreclosure videos from some of the more interesting Atlanta foreclosures that I appraise, this one made the list because of what appears to be a freakish combination of events.
In 25+ years of this I’ve never seen this many spider webs. The kicker was that something appears to have burned in the home causing a heavy soot, this settled on the webs and really made them pop. As is always the case, I immediately wonder how anyone can live in a home maintained like this – or not maintained. Other than that, this wasn’t a bad home; typical … (0 comments)

foreclosure video: The Black Mold Foreclosure - A Video Salute - 12/23/11 08:29 AM
I see some crazy stuff doing foreclosure appraisals; folks stoned, others falling through ceilings, homes with pot growing rooms and even moonshiners...this one took the cake. I call this the black mold foreclosure and what's awesome about this is that as I came in the front, some of the indiginous population bolted out the back. If a picture is worth a thousand words, this foreclosure video is worth about ten thousand.

Just another swell day out on the foreclosure appraisal trail...I call this one the Dirty Diaper Atlanta Foreclosure. The takeaway remains the same - any buyer expressing an interest in foreclosures better go in eyes wide open. This is just one of many foreclosure videos we post as we find the interesting ones and those that make you scratch....your head.

foreclosure video: Foreclosed, Trashed and on the Flight Path in Atlanta - Video - 12/21/11 10:11 AM
Here's a home that I appraised, a newer one that offers a lot of space but has been foreclosed, trashed and is on the flight path of Atlanta Hartsfield Airport. This is just another candid video look at distressed property in Atlanta, buyer's interested need to be extrememly careful in understanding what they are buying. Pay too much, underestimate the repairs and overestimate the cost repaired and you'll find yourself in deep kimchee...I've appraised the same homes many times over the years...

foreclosure video: Trashed Foreclosure & Feces...Videos Before They're Listed - 11/28/11 01:17 PM
I’ve taken to carrying a Flip video camera in my truck and I’ve started to shoot the more “interesting” things I see while out appraising homes. Over the years I’ve seen some crazy things from Sakrete (quick set concrete mix) poured into toilets, cut pipes to flood homes, to homes literally axed apart, to homes set up to hydroponically grow pot, to one of the best to this day – a townhouse in Albany NY that had about two feet of soil in two bedrooms where the owner grew pot.
Interesting foreclosure videos continue to be posted, like the rat infested … (1 comments)
