The beauty of living one with one foot in Idaho and one foot in Wyoming is 2 top ten ski resorts within minutes from home! Grand Targhee in Alta Wyoming, a stones throw from Driggs, Idaho is rated number 8 & is about as low key as it gets. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is rated number 1 this year and is only a 45 minute drive from my front door. We are all pretty proud of where we live and think it is one of the best places on earth. Glad to hear Forbes agrees with us.

When it was easy in the Real Estate Business there was a migration to the business. People quit their real job for a Real Estate business to make some easy money. During the storm there was an exodus. That’s when I got back into the business. People thought I was crazy. Why would you want to be in the RE Brokerage business now?! After the Storm, when the sun comes out the survivors will be standing in the sun and will appreciate the fact that they survived the storm. When asked how I like being in the sales businessit only took a minute for me to respond. “I am in the People, Networking and Information Business”. You see I do not consider myself a “SALES PERSON”; I do not actually SELL people on anything! I meet people; I share my knowledge of the market and the homes that are available in our area. wyoming: Get Branded with the Wrong Iron

When there are too many branding irons in the fire a calf will inadvertently get branded with the wrong iron! This is true in Business as well. When we are so busy trying to put fires out and multi tasking there are bound to be mistakes. As a Realtor I do not want to Brand myself as someone who is so busy that I make mistakes. I am currently too busy to handle the work load, I have just started an assistant and I am considering a virtual assistant as well. The way I figure it - If each (16 comments)

How do we measure an advocacy group’s negative impact -vs.- its positive contributions?
If a group that claims to advocate responsible development does not support the developers that plan well are they just advocating against development?

Price - Yes you must price your home properly to move it. An overpriced home will set! Real estate agents hear this all the time, "Let's just price the home high and see if there is anyone that just falls in love with it." The reality is in the numbers!

The Learning Academy is The Private School in Teton Valley just south of Driggs Idaho. The Staff at this private school make it extremely easy to learn, basing their teaching methods on each child’s individual needs. I am a Broker in both Idaho and Wyoming. With Cerifications for Equator, e-PRO, GRI and SFR (Short Sale and Foreclosure) I just asked myself "What does it REALLY Mean"? After considering this for a moment I offer this:
Each and every Certification course and test comes with a learning experience (you would expect that right) When we are willing to spend time, money and effort to gain accreditation we show a commitment to learning. Some of these although redundant are simply a third party confirming you have knowledge of a topic. I have a desire to learn. These (2 comments)

I read in a marketing book a while back a phrase about getting your "UNFAIR SHARE" of the market. I have used this to explain how I was doing in our down market and had a conversation with an Architect friend, this is something how it went: Q: How is your brokerage doing? A: We are getting our unfair share. I am thankful for opportunities that have come our way. Architect: Unfair share sounds somewhat negative, I see how hard you have been working. That is like saying you are getting your "unfair" share of the sunlight because you crawled out of the cave and stood (4 comments)

For those of you that don't know, a VOW is Virtual Office Website and an AVM is an Automated Valuation Model and the MLS stands for Multiple Listing Service. An example of an AVM is Zillow's Zestimate although Zillow is not a VOW. My website http://www.TetonPropertySearch.com is an example of a VOW (this site alows you the public to search the Teton Board of Realtors MLS including Driggs, Victor, Tetonia, and all of Teton County Idaho and Jackson Wyoming including all of Teton County Wyoming, although I do not have an AVM.
