flags: A Memorial Remembering....

In a park in downtown Red Wing they hold a beautiful Memorial remembrance over Memorial weekend. We visited as they were setting up the display and enjoyed seeing the folk that donated flags to the display. The children walking through the flags with there parents, parents remembering their children represented in the flags - it was pretty awesome!I'd love to see it lit at night. It was so much fun to visit the park on the way to visit our relatives and the cemetaries that hold the loved ones that have gone before us. Driving past the Elk River High School on the days before Memorial Day are lots of fun! For the past several years (since 9-1-1) there has been a group that parks with flags posted on the backs of their trucks. Yep, they are all lined up in the coolest line and then at the end of the day they head out together. I look forward to seeing these kids work together to make a statement... ...In this photo you can see one row of trucks, but in reality the flags run two rows deep (maybe 40 trucks total).
